So, I only got one of these so Im using it to check my mixes in mono. On first impression, I was very surprised and impressed with the extended low end I was hearing from this speaker. I could hear that 40hz from the kick drum clear as day and, even in mono, there was good separation between high, mid, and low frequencies. This speaker has room calibration. It has a built in preamp in the back of the speaker so all you have to do is plug the mic in the speaker, open the software, and it guides you through a quick room tuning. I've used ARC in the past as well as KRK ERGO systems and I found this room calibration super quick and with accurate results. I shot my room with pink noise, tuned the speaker, and then checked again. There was a huge difference in low end clarity, the room was reading fairly linear, and it did make me notice a few small things that I had to tweak in my mixes. After checking the mix in the car, I found those to be legitimate tweaks. Overall, this is very impressive for even just a mono speaker. I'd be confident these perform well in stereo. I'm using this speaker in mono paired with the PMC Result6 pair along with some KRK VXT8's I bought about 20 years ago and I'm finding this speaker is a great contrast with those. This speaker works well with the Yamaha HS5 pair as well. Id say the profile response is similar to an affordable Genelec. The X-monitor software, which is included, has emulation presets as well that can help you hear your mix in a different perspective. I found emulations of "ns-10's", bookshelf speakers, etc. I found them to be pretty helpful actually! It's similar to the MIXCHECKER plugin but it applies your room tuning as well. Overall, I love this speaker and feel it's priced accordingly. It gets loud enough, has a limit light, comes with isolation pegs and mic along with the room correction software. If you have limited room treatment and mix in a smaller room, I'd say this speaker would be a serious contender for the budget conscience engineer whose mixes could benefit from more clarity in the low end. I mix all genres and find this works well with metal, acoustic, rock, and even country. I guess I need to save for the other side so I can try these in stereo!

I have owned a lot of 'pro' monitors over the years, and these are, hands down, the best. Out of the box they sound great (everything flat, full eq). After carefully running the configuration... they're even better.Compared 'flat' with 'cal', and the calibration works. Tested with fave songs, some orchestral stuff.. a bit of everything. The clarity, depth... is amazing. They're aesthetically pleasing (in a non-descript sort-of way), they're quiet (no hiss, hum...). Great presence, definition. Am having a great time mixing on them, they're well-worth the price.

Amazing speakers. I already have the Genelec 8020Ds with a subwoofer as my second set, which I love, but the Precision 5s are next level. They have enough bass and a notably wide sweet spot, delivering an immersive and BIG sound. These monitors are not only good for music production but also provide a lot of enjoyment for listening to music or even gaming.I like the X-MONITOR app, but I am not a big fan of the speaker calibration feature. In my opinion, it's calibrating the speakers too extreme which makes sound small and thin, at least in my situation. I don't listen loudly and have a treated room. It would be nice if the X-MONITOR had a calibration knob, allowing users to adjust the calibration effect from 0 to 100%, similar to the functionality in SoundID Reference. For now, I've adjusted them using the X-MONITOR custom EQ.Overall, these speakers are excellent, and I'm highly satisfied with them

When you need to produce accurate audio, there's no better way to do that than to actually calibrate your speakers for your room. I love that this comes with a room calibration, microphone. Now I know that my sound will be accurate and not colored by my room.
