UPDATE: Its 3 months since purchase and this FLIMSY PIECE OF JUNK HAS FALLEN APART. I have 3 cat cages and the quality of this one is truly lousy compared to others, even with basic components. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY See my notes below.I set this up in my living room for 3 cats 2 months ago. I bought it because it is large and had a 50$ off coupon, but now wish I had spent more for a different product. Here's why:--it is by far the flimsiest cat cage Ive seen, nothing like other company's cages. I guess the 50$ discount shouldve been a warning--the door has no latches, and comes with by tiny white plastic clips to hold "latch" the door, but these are very cheap and easily pop off. I already ordered metal latches to ensure my cats dont get out--again--the door is literally 13 inches wide, which means anyone except a child will have great difficulty getting into the assembled cage to replace food, shelves, toys etc, or simply to pet your cats. I have to turn completely sideways and very slowly move in--otherwise I risk accidentally pulling the cage down around me--its flimsier compared to the two other cat cages I have. You have to be very careful not to bump it etc.--the "shelves" are barely held on and are made of cheap plastic which tears easily. After 2 months 50% of them have torn in two -- TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLEThats my feedback. In terms of size, etc its fine. However, it is flimsy and poorly designed compared to other companies cages--I have two and they are significantly sturdier and better made in the most basic areas. I assumed this one would be similar, but it isnt. I wish it were better made and above issues werent present. I also wish I had bought a cage from another company.

It takes a full day to assemble, instructions are poor but you don't really them. The door needs to have a latch otherwise it does not stay closed. I bought my own to keep it closed but still stays open some. My kitty loves it, I set it up that it attached to my window. The only thing was that they sent it to the wrong address I almost did not get it. I was lucky enough to have the man at the address it was delivered to found out how to contact me and arranged for me to come to pick it up. Otherwise I would not of gotten it. I did have to drive for an hour to pick it up. I was lucky enough to have this man to take the time to find me, but he could of kept it for himself. Not everyone is this honest.

I am fostering a mother cat and three kittens. I ordered this enclosure kit and set it up in my garage. You hardly need any instructions; it is very self explanatory. The pieces go together like Legos or Tinkertoys. You can design your own layout as you go. It’s just a bunch of equal sized squares and some corner hardware to join them together, and cable ties to keep them from pulling apart. There are several types of squares. Most are a wire mesh grid, but there are also a bunch of solid walls and some that are just empty frames that maintain the structural integrity while allowing openings. And there are some grid pieces with trimmed corners that make good trap doors. And some half squares for ladders. You absolutely need the cable ties. Lots of them. The corner joint pieces snap together but are easily pulled apart without the cable ties. I chose to use longer cable ties than the ones that came with the kit, since I already had them and the additional length made it easier to assemble. The small ones worked fine, it was just a hassle to thread them.I used the solid pieces for the lowest row because I was afraid my one week old kittens would be able to crawl through the grid. This has worked out perfectly. The kittens are now 4.5 weeks old and in the last two days they have started climbing to reach the second row, where the mesh grids start. They keep trying to squeeze their little heads through but they don’t fit through the way they might have, three weeks ago.I also used some of the solid pieces to make a shelf, and some of the empty squares as legs to support it. The mama cat sits up there when she wants a break, and it holds her weight just fine. She is only six pounds but I think it would support a larger cat as well.We used some coat hangar wire bent into U shapes, to make latches for the doors.I don’t think this enclosure would hold a more determined cat. Or a ferret. But this mama cat is very tame and gentle. The kittens are rambunctious but still too small to break out.People keep leaning on the cage. So far it has held up to being leaned on, but it flexes. I think that if you were hauling it around to public events, taking it down and putting it back up over and over, random people leaning on it, children reaching for the kitties, etc, the humans around it could be pretty hard on it. There would be some attrition as individual panels or joints were damaged. But I have enough extra parts that I could foster kittens many times without any serious issues. I can swap out any pieces that get damaged.I would buy this again. It is very practical.

We got this initially to prepare for the Christmas chaos as a way to give her a more interesting and higher space to climb than the Christmas tree, and for her to have a safe space while we have guests over. We’ve had it up since late November 2022 now and it’s been great.Setting it up wasn’t super easy, you really have to force those pieces into each clip joint. The hammer included is ridiculously silly and small, it’s better to use your hands and really push the pieces together. They inevitably shift as the structure gets larger, so make sure you use as many of the zip ties included as possible. The “non-slip” sticky pads are not the best, I recommend roughing up the flat of the plastic clip joint that it will be stuck to, before sticking it of course, to encourage a better seal. Half of the ones we used slipped off within the first 24 hours. Also, if you’re using this in any form of “permanent” installation, make sure to check the joints regularly and tighten the zip ties (or add more) as needed. My Likes: reliable and easy to move once set up, sturdy if set up appropriately. My cat loves it, runs across the house and darts up to the top with no issues. Easy to customize structure, easy to modify, very easy to wipe clean. After we built it we had pieces to spare. It’s a great way for us to keep food off the floor, and she just really loves how high up she can go.My Dislikes: I wish more zip ties were included. We didn’t use all of them but we have very few left which means if I want to reassemble it in a different form I’ll have to carefully remove the ones I placed to reuse them, or buy a new pack so I can clip them off. I wish you could order individual pieces or sets of pieces to add, but the seller has indicated you cannot do that. Also, mine is sturdy because the cat scratcher we added to the inside is tied to the structure, which gives it an anchor point. Even with that this thing shakes loudly every time my cat climbs up. Without it I can’t imagine it would last long. Also, no matter what, this thing is not level to the floor, the multiple joints make it difficult to level out, but this doesn’t bug us as much. Lastly, it’s a bit of an eye sore, not the most pleasant decoration to have in your living room, although that’s never bothered me but it may bother some who would prefer a more aesthetically pleasing cat tree.
