Most people don’t think to extend there electrical boxes when they pack out a wall or ceiling with additional materials like shiplap, etc. it is a safety concern when they are not, just incase if fire. This box extension is perfect for the task and it is nice and thick and perfectly made to precise specifications. So happy I found this extension and completely satisfied with my purchase from a very good seller.

A box on my garage was recessed about 3/4 inch due to siding being installed. These extenders worked perfectly to bring the box out to the surface. I really appreciated the fact that they can be easily trimmed to accommodate any box or fixture. They easily slide into existing boxes. Great product!

While changing out a light fixture in our new build, I discovered an electrical box that had been very poorly installed and was no where near flush with the drywall. The way it was just thrown in there, like an afterthought was really something. There was no way I was getting this new light fixture and plate attached to that mess. This extender worked like a charm and made installation of the new fixture so much easier. It also helped cover some of the crappy cut out work around the electrical box.

The design of this does not allow it to be easily inserted into a 4” octagon box. There is a “bump out” in the inside of this unit that takes up about 1/4 of the internal box volume. In order to fit how I needed it to, would have required modification. Decided to return this and find a better solution.

We added sheet rock to ceiling to cover up mess underneath and this extension allowed us to extend a light fixture attachment so was easy to reinstall. Worked great!

These are universal fit only for 4" and larger boxes. My home was built in the 60s and has a few round ceiling boxes that were installed flush with the original drywall before radiant ceiling heat and another layer of drywall were installed. Consequently, the boxes have been recessed 1/4-3/8" since the home was built. Unfortunately, the round boxes were 3-1/2", rather than the current standard of 4", and these boxes are just barely too small to fit the extenders! I think these are a fine solution if you have larger boxes.

Absolutely fit my round box without issue making my improperly installed round box flush with the wall.The screws however were too small and just slipped into the electrical box holes. They were plenty long enough though. Used the screws that came with my fixture as they were long enough. Everything else was fine. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. Not quite 5 stars but definitely not 4.Saved me from having to break the box outta the wall and install and old work box. Thanks!
