In all truthfulness, I have not used this stamp yet, but I have used others similar to this and can tell you that they are made to stamp soft materials. Copper, silver,pewter, ect. Stamping stainless steel, especially surgical stainless will destroy the imprint.

Require a slightly heaver hand than letter stamps, but looks good IMO.
