I’m using this for visibility on my electric tricycle. Attaching it to the bike flag pole I bought took a bit of improvising but I got it to work. It’s very eye catching and I feel safer with it since it makes it harder for drivers to ignore me on the road.

Exciting blowing in wind. 48inch size is what you want--shorter versions just don't have the magic and swirling spinning action.

I just purchased my second one. Ultimately I like the product for my purposes... out on a pole in my yard and the spins indicates a wind speed. The issue I have is that the ends fray quickly. That causes the tail to be an ugly mess. Within a couple of weeks of having each of them down and trim the ends so they don't tangle with each other. Kind of a tedious process. With the extra work I've done, it serves my purposes. But I'd prefer not to have to do that.2020 update - I'm on my 4th one now since first purchased in 2015. Still enjoy the spin. Still have to take it down once in a while to trim the fraying ends... but it does seem to have fewer problems than the first two I bought. On my property the wind is relatively constant, and over the last few days has been steady at 20+MPH. Admittedly, this has taken a lot of abuse. My update is about including that I live on a saltwater beach. That causes the spinner to get rusty and worn. Amazingly, the one I own now came with two spinners. The first one wore out a while ago so I just removed that spinner and put it back up... with a little added lubricant since things get rusty here... I use grease for lubricant to prevent twisting. The windsock blew off again today when the second spinner wore out. But knowing that these spinners wear out I had a stainless steel spinner at the ready and I simply replaced the spinner and it's flying again. So my second TIP is, if you're on a saltwater beach, be ready to replace the spinner with stainless steel. If you missed the first tip, it is: if you're in the wind most of the time, be prepared to trim frayed ends.FWIW, I think that having the metal spinners wear out before the windsock itself looks ugly and not worth flying is a good sign of the quality of the fabric of the windsock itself. So nice job improving that!

Nicely made, Quick hook up to line. Nice large spin latch. Fairly light in the wind, rotation good. Pleased overall.

UPDATE: The swivel hooks used to be heavy duty. In recent years, as the price goes up, they reduced the size of the hardware so they break off. The hardware doesn't match the size of the sock. I always lube the line of swivels, but they still break long before the sock wears out.And can we please get some different colors?Love this 8 foot size. Wish the other colors were as affordable. This spinsock holds up in Denver area gusty winds. I fly them year around and love the motion and color. Anyone who gets this size should understand that strong winds put a lot of force on the sock, pole and hooks. Even with 70 mph gusts, I have never had one come off. I use a 16 ft. Heavy duty pole with a 12 inch swing arm. In addition, I use a UV protective spray to keep fading to a minimum. I think I replace mine every 6 months, so the price is right.
