Lead Block is a water-based elastomeric acrylic lead encapsulating paint, with excellent adhesion, elongation, and tensile strength characteristics. When applied to surfaces bearing lead-containing paint, this product will seal in the lead paint with a thick coating. This water-based, elastomeric coating, is formulated to encapsulate lead-based paints and forms a dense, high-solids barrier that blocks and seals to prevent the migration of lead contaminants from reaching the surface. It contains Bitrex, a bitter tasting, anti-ingest ant, which deters children from oral contact when painting over lead paint. Lead Block paint may be applied to interior walls, trim and ceilings, or properly prepared drywall, plaster, wood, masonry or metal surfaces as an alternative to expensive lead paint remediation. On exterior surfaces, this product may be applied to vertical surfaces, including properly prepared masonry, stucco, wood, or metal substrates. Before using this product, read and understand the federal, state and local regulations regarding the use of lead encapsulating coatings. Before using, read the Lead Block product data sheet. It contains the full and complete surface preparation, priming, application instructions and the warnings and environmental considerations. Available at: www. insl-x

I used this product to cover trim that tested positive for lead. Applied three coats to be sure and we passed the reinspection.

As described works good. You don’t have to replace the walls. Tested negative for lead.

This paint did not work despite five separate layers. The surface (a door) continues to test positive for lead.

I have an old 1924 house. Even though it’s been renovated, I knew I was going to find lead paint lurking somewhere! Fortunately it appears to be contained to the exterior of the house, but there it is exposed to the elements so you really want to make sure it’s properly encapsulated and won’t crack or chip!THIS IS THE PAINT YOU NEED! It goes on a LOT thicker than standard paint (by design) and when it’s dried it remains more elastic to prevent cracks and peeling which would expose the covered lead paint. It also chemically bonds to the lead in the other paint to keep it in place. If you own an older home get yourself a lead test kit and a can if this paint. Your family and future generations will thank you for preventing the lead from contaminating the ground around your house with lead paint chips. Remember lead is a forever chemical, it never breaks down!

Purchased an old farmhouse in Vermont. Lots of trim and doors that I am assuming are lead based paint and chipping. No kids here (they all grown and out), but I am encapsulating anyway to be safe. Easy to apply and feels good to know I am doing the right thing. You can leave the white as is, as its crisp and fresh looking (slight sheen to boot!), but you can easily paint over once its dry too. I will purchase more when I need.

Bought twice and will purchase more. Package well done for shipping no issues with shipping style. Pertty thick paint a little goes a long way.

It is a rather thick paint. Hopefully, it works.

Extremely thick, but it appears to do an excellent job encapsulating trouble areas.
