Careful. It will clog your slow drain if you start with too much. Treat your drains closest to sewer or septic first. Each drain received approximately 1/3c per half gallon of warm water and let set overnight. Flush with hot water in the morning. You may want to start with less. Worst that will happen is it won't work immediately. Good luck

We use this mainly for maintenance of our drains and for the most part it's worked fine. We used to have issues with roots from a particular tree getting into the main line beyond where we were allowed to maintain it and had to rooter all the time but since we started using this and another drain cleaner, we haven't had to rooter for a couple years now. That said, the product used to be this rich green color and lately it's been changing. I haven't noticed an obvious difference so far but it's concerning since it looks more like a sickly yellow and has a residue in the bottle...like it's been stored in some hot warehouse for a year or something. We've been alternating between another product mainly to maintain the drains but keep the costs reasonable since this product is super cheap compared to the other one (which runs $30 a bottle). I often use the adage "You get what you pay for" but thought this was maybe an exception. Now, I'm not so sure.

The drain was always so incredibly slow! Drano did nothing. I had to use a metal wire every few days to poke enough room to allow the water to drain. I used this stuff 2 times! Once before I went to bed and again in the morning before I left for work. Now I couldn't make any water pool up in my bathroom sink if I try!

I feel like I was just pouring money down the drain, literally. This did absolutely nothing to ease my slow draining sink. Ended up using the whole bottle and saw no results. Went to the store and bought Drano and that did the trick. Save your money and buy Drano instead.

I have a 3rd floor walk in shower that has a long lateral drain line to a vertical then another super long lateral to reach a shirt vertical to the main line drain. I had a slow shower drain and would use foaming pipe cleaner which cleared the pipe near the shower drain but did nothing to help the other long runs of drain pipe. Into my 3rd year in this 100 year old rowhouse and the drain basically slowed to the point the shower basin would fill up and take 30 minutes or more to drain. Tried Drano, Green Gobbler, and a similar enzymatic product from Roto Rooter that costs significantly more than this. None remotely helped the issue. I used a large portion of bottle and then let it sit for a few days. Followed suggestions of other reviews and poured boiling water down followed by another application. It took 3 uses like this and finally the drain cleared. My shower basin does not collect any water at all now. This is an inexpensive product to use to clear and then maintain slow drains. It is not a clog buster so match the product to your need. I'm relieved to have found a product that worked, albeit with me running hot water up several flights of stairs a few times.

I read through some of the negative reviews and they all are overlooking one thing. The directions. Which specifically state that you must use a plunger after the first treatment to break the clog loose and that it also doesn't work if the drain is completely clogged. You must get the drain to at least slowly drain. This is not an acid-like product that eats a drain clog or hair clog quickly and clears the pipe, but that's also why this is cheaper. I too was expecting a "drano" like reaction. Instead, you treat the slow drain with a small amount of this liquid, then wait at least 4 hours without using the drain, then use a plunger to bust the clog completely loose. After that, you continue to treat regularly with a couple tablespoons each time for prevention. It works as long as you can wait about 10 hours or so and use a plunger on the drain. It loosens and eats away at the clog enough to allow a plunger to clear it. That's how it is intended to work, and is not as immediate nor as caustic as drano.

This product does not work for my clogged sink that is 25 feet away from my Sink Trap. The Directions say put 2 TBS in my Sink and allow to stand overnight. My clogged line is 25 feet away from my Sink Trap, and 2 TBS won't even go past my Sink Trap. The Directions also says keep putting 2 TBS in the Sink every other day until the clogged sink is fixed (how many is that?). I put 3/4 of the entire bottle in the Sink Trap, and nothing happened to clear the clogged drain. I want the drain clean immediately. I purchase from Amazon.com the "Drain King" device that you can see it work instantly on youtube. The Drain King unit can be used forever, for future clogged drains, and it works instantly (immediately).
