What is the difference between intake camshaft and exhaust camshaft?
The intake camshaft opens and closes the intake valve (s) which let the fiel/air mixture into the combustion chamber/cylinder. After mixture is compressed and ignited, the exhaust camshaft opens the exhaust valve to let out burnt mixture/exhaust.
Installation: Removed plastic engine Intake top by loosen metal screw clamps on throttle body and air cleaner box intake tube. Remove oil cap, pull plastic cover off. Remove both electrical connectors of solenoids. Remove Intake Solenoid using a 10mm socket. Wipe up oil that drips around hole where it mounts; Rung clean oil on rubber O ring on upper end of solenoid.
KIND REMIND: Clean dust & debris around Solenoids, using an air hose or vacuum cleaner and paint brush. The Throttle body must be cleaned before install, otherwise, P0010 code remains. P0014 P0011 could also be caused by that the valve timing need be adjusted, adjust timing not only replace Solenoids.

Local parts store asked for $40 per unit. And this is a set of two that should changed. This was an easy DIY I also saved mechanic fees $80/hr only God knows how many hrs they would have billed.

Se los cambié a mi vehículo solo por mantenimiento ya que se sabe que los motores 2.4 ecotec sufren fallos por estas válvulas, fue super fácil la instalación lo hice yo mismo, son de buena calidad y funcionan de maravilla, cabe mencionar que las válvulas viejas salieron muy sucias pero con estas nuevas ya me siento tranquilo

If you are even a little handy with a wrench you can do this change out! I watched a YouTube video and did it myself in about 15 minutes!! I was quoted $1500 from a mechanic!! Crazy!! What a ripoff!

Bought this product for a 2008 Malibu. This is one of the most common parts to fail in the Chevys of that era and will immediately throw the check engine flag on the dash.When this parts fails you will usually experience a temporary increase in engine power as the timing advances, then after a little time the engine will start running rough and lose power.These parts are priced very well from this seller, easy to install (you can watch a quick YouTube video if you need to), requires only basic tools, and can be a good thing to try before you take a car to an expensive mechanic. You will save hundreds by doing this job yourself.I took the car to a local auto store and they scanned the codes for free, then I bought the part here for a much better price.From out of the box to installed in the car in 10 minutes. The fit is specific to the intake cam and exhaust cam so you cannot put them in backwards, on top of that the pair is color coded.

Inexpensive and permanent fix for the annoying "P0013/P0014" SES lights/codes on my 2009 Malibu with 2.5l Ecotec motor. Simply remove engine cover, unplug old sensors (OEM sensor housing crumbled into dust!), remove old sensors with 10mm socket after thorough cleaning of area, install new, done. Save a ton of money and your sanity by replacing these sensors!
