I bought this chip as an "upgrade" (semi-downgrade in the fact i didn't go with the k chip) from a 12700k, and it's amazing

No pins, easy to slot. Included cooler is junk, tho. Ran 90 degrees+ on starfield. Replaced cooler with a $50 liquid cooler and I'm down to 33-39 instead. I think it's picky on ram speed, I had it on a ddr4 and ddr5 board and it does not like going over 3000 on ddr4 or 4600 on ddr5. I'm not super techy so if you're going to pick presets that's where I ended up. Still worked great at those speeds. $$$ wise vs AMD you get a lot more cores on the i7 over the ryzen 7 and you can keep your ddr4 if you're not ready to fight with ddr5.

Serie 13th is power hungry even with 65 tdp, some peaks at 200w and 100 w average on gaming, 240mm aio doing fine

Had to return mine.. was simply too much power for what I needed. That doesn't change the fact this is one of Intel's best CPUs ever! I absolutely recommend using am AIO for your cooling solution. I would use at least a 240mm and wouldn't trust a 120.. chip doesn't run super hot, but don't think a 120mm would be up to the task.

After about a month of use I'm changing my review. I'm very happy with this processor however I did have to buy a better cooler. And a bend correction bracket. Also bigger case. If you don't have the best cooling setup it runs pretty hot and from what I've researched it's just a 12th/13th gen thing they run hot. More power more cooling lol otherwise 5 star product nothing was damaged.

I upgraded from a Ryzen 3700 OC'ed to 3.8Ghz, this is a significant improvement, most notably for PS3 emulation using RPCS3 but it also seems much better with lots of background tasks while gaming, and CS:GO runs better as well, my RX 5700 XT is definitely now the bottleneck for more graphically intense games so I really can't comment personally on whether this will help there, but other reviews suggest it will.
