I had to replace this and actually is working really good. We really appreciate it now we can set a timer when the water in the pool. It was awesome. The best thing about that it was actually a better price than if you would buy it to the pool website!

My standard Intermatic mechanical pump timer has served perfectly for 22 years! While this new pump has only been installed for a few weeks, we have had some cold weather and it works as expected to keep pipes and pump housing from freezing. No more leaving the pump running 24/7 whenever the weather may freeze. So far, very very satisfied. Also, was not too very difficult to install. Took about 45 minutes to change out from the old timer.

Just installed about a week ago and seems to work great. Easy installation if you are confident in electrical work but would mark it down only because it has no screw down blocks for the electrical connections. I had to use pigtails with screw caps as that's all I had. Was expecting screw down blocks like my other Intermatic boxes. Nothing wrong with pigtails but I personally believe they are more prone to corrosion, especially outdoors. Would recommend using wire connectors readily available from hardware stores. Marked it down 1 star for this reason, otherwise totally happy.

Replaced my existing unit which was 9 years old and not functioning properly. This unit works great and is industrial quality. I rated installation at 2 stars as I would not recommend the typical homeowner try and replace this as you need to know what you're doing electrically and stay SAFE. Hire a licensed electrician.

The first one I received to replace my old timer had a non functioning thermostat. Amazon sent me a replacement. The replacement worked fine when the temperature dropped. Freeze protection important with a pool. Instructions tell you to test thermostat by putting ice in bag and onto copper coil within the timer housing. That just seems dangers with live wires around the coil. Anyhow, replacement worked just fine.

There is a lengthy review on this site going into detail about the apparent cycling problems with the integral freeze guard in this product. I have it installed on my pool's fountain pump while a non-integral freeze guard protects the circulation pump. As I write this, the outdoor air temperature is 33 degrees F. At this point, yes, BOTH thermostats cycle both pumps on and off. (Both thermostats have a set temperature of 38 deg. F.) This is NOT a problem. When the temperature is below freezing, both designs cause both pumps to run continuously, as they should, and as they did during the past 3 days when temperatures ranged from 28 degrees to 18 degrees.I really like the integrated timer and freeze guard, enough that I've bought one for my circulation pump, too. It will replace the two boxes and extra EMT taking up space on my equipment panel now.

I have bought this for my swimming pool. For the first month it worked well. Now unfortunately it stays on all the time. I've been trying to contact Intermatic, but so far unsuccessfully. Amazon is not helpful because it's out of the 30 day window. Will update this when I see it gets handled correctly. A rather expensive timer to go on the blink this soon.
