Our 2.5 year old loves space and astronauts - this was a huge hit!Out of box - there were no instructions or photos for them to follow - but it's straight forward to assemble into various builds with your kiddo. The robot head acts as a screwdriver for the large, kid safe, screws. Those screws also happen to be compatible with our toddlers other toolset and screw gun.The individual space modules don't have lights like some of the pictures imply. The main spaceship has blue cabin lights, 4 different sound effects and a flashing red light that coordinates with some of the sounds. There is a power and 2 volume options on the sounds on the bottom of the spaceship as well.Overall this seems like a fun set - the material feels a bit cheap but durable and should hold up to lots of play. The modular building set is fun and enables creative building with things that aren't blocks which is a fun change.

This space exploration play set appears to be made of high-quality materials. There are no rough edges and the hinges are secure. There are a variety of space elements to build and play with. As a “note”, there are no instructions included. While this encourages creativity, for a younger child (3-4) it would be nice to see more pictures other than what is on the box. A child could look at the pictures and see what parts are needed and how to assemble the Satellite Research Center, the Communication Tower and the Lunar Landing Model. The sounds include 3 buttons that emulate blasting off, flying and warning sounds. A fourth button controls the lights. There is a master on/off switch as well. The Robot doubles as the screwdriver used in assembly. It is designed in such a way that it is easy for little fingers to use. This play set encourages imagination, creativity and fun. My 3-year grandson really enjoys playing with it and will enjoy it for several years as it will grow with him and his skills continue to develop. It would make a great gift.

This space toy set is so cute! It can be difficult to find space toys for younger kids - I’ve found a lot of great toys but they’re too hard or complicated for young kids. These fit that need. Sturdy, durable materials and age appropriate play for toddlers and young kids - my eldest (6) loves stem toys and building things, and he has no issue with this, and my youngest (4) loves to just do imaginary play and this is great for both of them. I like that it comes with pieces other than just a rocket - like the comms and landing module. Introduces new concepts to kids in a fun, playful way.

This is a great versatile and easy to use toy for small kids and small hands. The pieces can interchange in many ways to let little creative minds build and use their imaginations. The plastic bolts have nice sized heads that are easy to grip, and they also have a socket in them that allows the head of the little robot toy to be used as a screwdriver. Each bolt head is sized for the base of the astronauts, the flag, and the satellite to fit onto it snugly. The main rocket unit takes 2 AAA batteries that run lights and sounds on the inside of the rocket, operated by buttons inside the cockpit. There is 3 way switch on the bottom of the rocket that is higher volume, lower volume, or off. This is made of sturdy plastic and hinges that feel like they can stand up to lots of play time without worry of breaking. I mean they are breakable, but someone would have to actually try to break it. I am going to want to play with this with my grandkids as much as they will. I would not hesitate to get this again as a gift. It's a great set.

This little space-themed building set is everything that it claims to be. It is durable and easy to use. It does not come with any kind of an instruction manual, but you can build everything pictured on the box with a little trial and error. For more building ideas, check the product pictures on the Amazon website. The accompanying video is also worth watching. That said, a child could discover features of the set and come up with multiple configurations simply through exploration. I can envision hours of fun, creative play. A few notes:The little robot screwdriver is cute, but not necessary for assembly: the screws can be easily inserted by hand. The screws are definitely a choking hazard, so the 3+ age designation is appropriate.The set is made of very durable plastic and could be cleaned if needed, however, the cockpit can’t be submerged because it houses 2 AAA batteries (not included). Buttons on the inside of the cockpit piece activate lights and sounds appropriate for a space vehicle.Crew members are a boy and a girl astronaut, an adorable little highly adjustable robot dog that scoots along on wheels, and the screwdriver robot.The storage box is sturdy and reusable; however, it takes a little work to get all the big pieces in far enough to close the lid.The educational aspect of this set will grow as a child learns about space and space travel. The price is reasonable for the quality and durability of the toy. This is definitely a five-star playset.

Note: Assembly required, but I think that’s the idea…Overall this is a durable little play set for toddlers. It has little spaceships, and the big one even has a cool looking blue light inside and realistic sounds. The size is perfect for little toddler hands too. Had I bothered to look, I would have noticed that the robot is also the screwdriver for the assembly, but I didn’t until well over halfway through. However, since he’s a robot and bulky, I couldn’t use him to tighten up the screws on the biggest spaceship; not a big deal though, since the screws are easy to hand tighten. This is a fun little set that can be configured in different ways, so it is a good creative toy. It could definitely benefit from an instruction booklet for initial setup though. My boy loves his new “bobot” (robot), astronauts, and spaceships! Great value and would also make a great gift for a space loving toddler.
