Unit very poorly had to get within 10 feet to get any reaction ,I bought some other brand receiver that appeared similar and no success. I would lol elsewhere. I know some out there work I just picked a poor one.

I tried to use this to extend the remote control of a Denon x4800h AV receiver that I have installed in a closed cabinet. I installed the device as per the instructions, but it didn't work. I could see the light blinking on the unit as I worked the remote, but no commands made it to my AVR. I tried connecting one of the emitter jacks directly to the IR Input jack on my AVR - that didn't work either. I also tried combinations of powering using the supplied transformer and the USB connection - nothing I tried made a difference.In the end, I'm returning it for refund, but there went an hour of my time that I'll never get back...

I make props for performers that have IR remotes and sometimes it's necessary to have multiple transmitters around the stage to make sure a signal reaches the prop regardless of where it is. This unit works well enough for that purpose (I've tested it with both RC5 and NEC protocols at 38 kHz) that I feel like I can recommend it to my customers, but the biggest deficiency seems to be that despite the unit offering 3 inputs and 6 outputs, there's apparently no way to buy the extra receivers and transmitters separately. You get one receiver and four transmitters and that's it.
