Came from the factory with sharp edges and even a few very fine wire splinters.......WEAR GLOVES DURING ASSEMBLY.......Attempted to assemble the unit according to the diagram but I could just not make that happen so I adapted it. I would suggest to the manufacturer that providing a few plastic washers in addition to what comes with the kit for use on the pivot points bolts would really improve the ability to open and close the saw buck........It would also benefit from 2 more cross braces......Will it handle 220# as claimed in the listing? I honestly have no idea as I am NOT about to try lifting something that heavy onto it........All said.......It does the job......REVISION........After 2 days of light use the saw buck collapsed when I put a log onto it for cutting.......I am 58 and.......not in the best shape......So I can GUARANTEE that the log didn't weight over 220# which is the advertised capacity of this unit........Upon inspection SEVERAL of the bolts holding the frame together had either loosened or had FALLEN OUT........These were TIGHT when I assembled the unit......These are the bolts that didn't have lock nuts........I have lost a couple of the bolts and several nuts and washers now.......LUCKILY I HAVE A JUNK DRAWER.......Or this POS would be useless until I made the 1 hour round trip into town for replacement parts.......I CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT IN GOOD FAITH........MANUFACTURER..........DO BETTER.......

Okay... so this log holder works okay. It's a bit flimsy, but for average size logs is fine. The big issue, though, is the saw horse has extremely sharp edges. I mean, EVERYWHERE. Handling this saw horse without gloves is downright dangerous. Apparently the manufacturer of this item doesn't care if people's hands get sliced up on this thing. No sanding or polishing was done anywhere-- so the edges of the metal are very, very sharp. WEAR HEAVY DUTY GLOVES WHEN HANDLING!!

I bought this for cutting up some trees that I took down on the rear of my property. My only complaints with it were the assembly process. Complaint #1 was the assembly instructions. Instead of giving you well-written instructions in one language (ex: English), you get lousy instructions written in 6 different languages. Fortunately the assembly process is nothing more than installing bolts of different sizes with washers and nuts, so studying the supplied pictures for a few minutes was enough. Complaint #2 was the hardware. As I mentioned, you using bolts, nuts and washers of different lengths and widths. Instead of supplying the hardware in separate plastic bags with everything sorted and labeled so you can match the individual part types up to the parts list, you get everything loose in one bag and you have to sort each bolt, washer and nut type up into their respective group and try to match it up to the parts list. This slows down the assembly, can be problematic if you use the wrong bolt and nut in any step and is very lazy by the manufacturer. Despite this, I finished the assembly in acceptable time. The stand is very sturdy and enabled me to cut up the trunk pieces safely with my chainsaw. The assembly shortcomings I mentioned are more of an annoyance than anything else and are very easy to address. You wonder why they don't do it.

I am in my early 70's so I have trouble bending over to cut up logs on the ground.This set up let's me place the log on it, and cut it more comfortably.It is sturdy and easy to assemble.
