If you mainly need an airbrush to prime and base coat models or small items, this is the airbrush you want.

Works super easy. I like the large spray field. Feels great in my hand. Quality. I used a cheap one at first and had too many problems. Bought another Iwata with a smaller tip to paint more detail my hand brush painting is rough.

Excellent airbrush, worked flawlessly. Was very easy to use and the clean up after I used it was very easy. I would recommend this airbrush for everyone that is involved in model building. In the past, I would spend money on the cheap $25 dollar airbrush and they would fall apart after 2 or 3 uses. This airbrush is made of high quality materials and is very durable. Worth every penny.

This is the best quality, “bang for the buck” airbrush I’ve found. I am not a gifted artist nor a high volume painter. I do need a unit that is equally forgiving whether it be an art project, model painting, sign stenciling or applying Duracoat. This airbrush is it for me. Easy to use, easy to clean, consistent and fairly priced.

Bought this one so I did not have to clean mine every time I use another color. It is easy to clean and works well. Well made and repair parts are available.

Perfect as a main airbrush for scale models, it can do some level of detail work, but .5 needle airbrushes are best for broader spray patterns. I have this airbrush and also a Tamiya spray work spr fine with a .2 needle for the small details, both are built by Iwata and both are incredible. The only problem I have with this airbrush is the fact that unlike the Tamiya branded one it doesn't come with a trigger limiter adjustment on the handle, I can't tell you how incredibly important this feature is to me now after using it, now I wouldn't use an airbrush without it. The bright side however is that the handle is interchangeable between both airbrushes since both are made by Iwata. So if you have another airbrush made by Iwata with this feature, you may be able to swap handles.Although I highly recommend this airbrush especially if you can get it under $100, I would to find another Iwata made airbrush that has the adjustable trigger limiter on the handle if you can, or maybe you can get it after market or as a stand alone part? I know that some of if not all of the Tamiya airbrushes and Mr. Hobby airbrushes are made by Iwata. Iwata 100% makes top quality products and I'm very happy with them and will likely be using both of these airbrushes for many many years.

Got this to replace an old Aztek brush that I never could get the hang of. This was a dream straight out of the box, flawless for priming minis, and goes down fine enough for some more detailed work. Highly recommended.

Genial!

After using a Master G22 for several months and having problems with it, I bought the Iwata and very pleased with my purchase. It is not perfect for fine detail but with a little adjustment on air flow and a little trigger control practice, you can do great with scale models and other projects. It is easy to disassemble and clean plus there is a great tutorial on Youtube by Neonot (?) on this very airbrush.Easy to clean.Easy to control (a little practice needed)Smooth dual action.Well made. Backflushing is easy. Good choice for scale model builders.Update on 12/4/16OK, I have been using this Iwata for almost 3 years now and can say I am still very impressed with it. I may be at that point where I need to replace the needle and nozzle as they are showing signs of much use. It still works fine and I have found that I can use heavier paints such as Createx Pearls, Transparent and such at much higher PSI than we would normally push through an airbrush (45 PSI is common with some paints). It has held up well and learning how to properly clean and lube it was a Must. I still think it's the best airbrush for scale models and it's been a fun experience learning how to get the most out of it. Thank God for YouTube, right?Update after a few months. I still love this airbrush. It works as well today after much use as it did when new. I have learned to do some fine detail with it although it is not designed with that in mind. I believe this is a scale modelers best choice, especially for the price.
