I had trouble with my original top plate bending from heavy tongue weight when I rolled the trailer around or jacked the tongue up high or on uneven ground. I hope to brace my jack tube by installing this plate across the bottom of the trailer frame so it can't bend the my top plate where the jack mounts.I wish this plate was a lot thicker or at least had a 1 inch tall 90 degree reinforcing flange bent along the long (rear) side to make it less susceptible to bending with the 3 jack mounting holes drilled so I could use this for replacing the top plate on a trailer.
