I'm a principal electrical engineer with 35 years of experience in test, power design, and product design. The socket ground wire is 22 AWG, segmented bare wire (for all four sockets!!) - this can't possible pass the required bonding test of 25 Amps for 60 seconds. If there was an AC short to ground this wire would simply vaporize. Socket ground is cold-soldered to the AC line cord crimped ground - this is a very high resistance and crappy / unsafe way to make a ground connection. This would never pass UL / NEC / CE consumer product specifications. There was a loose nut and washer inside the high voltage section! There was a loose washer inside the packaging. This product is not made by Jameco. I have no idea how this product is even on the market in the USA because it not certified safe in any way. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I bought this even after reading the only other review and expecting the worst.I got it.2 screws for the transformer completely out and loose in the box. Tiny ground strap across the outlets and just tack soldered to the lug all as described.Knowing the price point I expected and accepted this. Have mounted things back and re-done the grounding including removing paint so those lugs actually connect somewhere now.Is it safe? Maybe now. Will it do what I need? Most likely. Would I recommend this product? Only if you understand what you are getting in to and are cheap.A proper solid isolation transformer of this size from a reputable supplier will be 5 times its price so I’m willing to roll the dice vs having no isolation for testing at all. This is not a Ready To Use product, more like a kit.
