Just make sure you clean & dry thoroughly to avoid mold, but that’s not unique to this product

There’s a learning curve but once you pick it up they work great and add to the fn of making sushi. The tell you to line them with plastic wrap.

I picked these because they're a bit larger than standard rolling mats. I like having a bit of extra space to work with. I used them tonight to make 12 large rolls and they worked great. One other review mentioned that one end of twine holding them together was waxed and glued, and came apart, but that may have been an earlier version. Mine are full length threads, looped around one end and tied on the other. No wax or glue holding the twine on.They're well constructed and should hold up fine as long as they are protected from food contamination. They aren't exactly easy to keep clean long term. To that end, as others have said, I recommend wrapping them with saran wrap or placing them in a gallon zip-lock to keep food off them while rolling. That will keep them in new condition for years.

First time making sushi, bought this. Thought it was priced decent, and I was able to make decent sushi with it on my second try (we don’t talk about the first sushi night in this house but it wasn’t the rollers fault). Shout out to Alton Brown for the proper recipe on how to make the rice. But if you’re wanting to try making sushi at home, this worked well for me.

After misplacing my old sushi roller bamboo mat, I had to order a new one. The new bamboo mat rolls sushi well. I am able to press a sushi roll comfortably using this mat. The only thing that I find strange is the smell. I washed the mat before using it, and it had a distinct smell. I couldn't recognize the smell. Maybe it's bamboo? The mat doesn't smell when it's dry.

I wanted to try my hand at making Sushi. This mat is a must! It makes the rolling of the California roll very, very easy. I coupled this mat with watching a few YouTube 'how-to' videos and presto, you're making passable sushi! I even amazed my granddaughter.

It's bamboo. It rolls sushi. I guess that means it works perfectly (provided you add in two human hands to operate this delicate piece of equipment). LOLSeriously though, for the price, this is one of the best mats I've found. My daughter loves sushi and I always wanted to try making it myself. I had never done it before buying this mat and literally watching a couple of YouTube videos.Got it right on the first try and I've used it several times since. We love our sushi mat!
