This is a great little set of mocha tea tools at a bargain price. Remember to soak the whisk in hot water before using so it doesn't shed. IMPORTANT: You'll still need a ceramic whisk stand to keep it in good shape for a long time. (There are many available on Amazon with and without a matching bowl for whisking at reasonable prices.)

I got this because I was tired of paying starbucks $5 a day for a matcha green tea latte. Now I make them at home at a fraction of the price. Pretty easy to use and clean up is simple. The ends do uncurl a bit after a few times, but it does not effect the creaminess of the matcha.

The chasen center became undone after the very first use. I will contact Amazon for a refund.

The whisk works very well. I use it often for making matcha and only one prong has broken off (which was my own fault). To help the whisk keep it's shape, simply storing it in the case it comes in works pretty good. I use a rubber band to make sure the lid stays on, but it still does the job just fine. The scoop is of good quality and works as it is meant to. I haven't used the spoon, but it's nice and is of good quality as well. I've seen matcha kits as high as $40 or more in specialty shops, but for the average at-home user, this kit will serve your needs very well. I would definitely purchase this again and have also purchased it as a gift for others.

I haven't actually used this item yet. it looks nice and I'm not sure if I want to ruin it by putting it in tea. after reading users reviews i'm not sure if this brand is the good one or not. I bought it because I thought it looked cool and wanted to try it when I have some matcha tea. I still like it because I think it looks cool.

This whisk does what it is designed to do, perfectly. The finish on the scoop and spoon is smooth, and all parts seem well crafted. A good buy. I would recommend a whisk holder to increase the longevity of the whisk, as it is a delicate item by its very design (as are all chasen). I've been using my chasen regularly for a few months now, and it remains in perfect shape.

After getting some matcha tea and liking it, I decided to get a tea whisk- which I figured would be better than my small metal whisk. I like it when I'm right. I got the set because I figured the bamboo scoop would work easier than dealing with a measuring spoon. It is I just dip it into the package and pull out the tea and then dump the tea in a small bowl- actually I use a ramkin. The bamboo whisk works much better than my metal whisk. While I was able to mix it with the metal whisk it didn't all blend/dissolve together- it does with the bamboo whisk and gets even frothier. I am very happy with these items-currently I'm not using the spoon-but who knows what the future brings.

The chasen I received (I bought two sets) appeared well made on arrival. To help provide some context for a previous reviewer who was unhappy with the product:A chasen should not have splinters, so that part of the complaint was valid. The number of tines (80, 100) should be chosen according to what type of tea you will be making: 80 tines for thick tea (koicha), 100 or more for thin tea (usucha). An 80-tine chasen is not automatically of lesser quality than a 100-tine chasen. The thickness of the handle varies according to the original piece of bamboo chosen, and different diameters are preferred by different Tea practitioners. I personally prefer a smaller diameter because I have very small hands, but a larger person could prefer a larger diameter. Again, it is not necessarily an indicator of quality, and it isn't always an indicator of how many tines the chasen has.As a long-time practitioner I wouldn't normally spend the extra money to get additional chashaku (the tea scoop) each time I buy chasen, but I was acquiring these as gifts for people new to the practice, and was very happy with what I got for the price asked.

Wisk didn't keep it's shape very long. However, I use it everyday. Not sure if that has any thing to do with it.
