I was using the D' Addario Helicore strings, but saw an on-line review of these so I thought I would give them a try. All cellos are different, but on mine they are thick and muddy, though they really resonate in the bass end. I prefer the D'Addarios and will go back to them.

I play cello as a hobbyist, bought one in 2018, started using cheap strings then upgraded to prelude, but past year I upgraded to this jargar medium full set. The sound is great as long as your bridge has the proper height. I play casually so I guess a set would last a year.
