All the doorhandles rubberized material turned to goo in the Florida heat. It was expensive to replace all the door handles. Thank goodness for a Facebook pop up ad for the perfect affordable solution. It fit perfect and looks great. No more gooey mess on my hands. I ended up buying the covers for all the handle.FYI. No directions. You have to just pull off the back flat piece of the original handle, not the front part. And slide in the new one.

The part goes over the top of the old rubber, just take out the back section (open window to go in from behind the door and slide up). Looks nice and cheaper than getting it replaced through bmw.

Once installed, it fits fine and matches the door color. However, the installation is fairly difficult and full of steps to make mistakes that could be critical. More of the fault with how BMW assembles the door, then the fault of this product. I consider myself a better than average handy-man, and I have a good variety of tools in my garage. BMW uses plastic rivets inside the door that have to be drilled out, which you hopefully don’t do incorrectly. No useful instructions are provided. The “How to” videos available In Amazon show the basics, but seem to skip through some crucial points. I probably would not try to install this again, as I think I barely got through it without damaging something. Again, I don’t think that this product was the issue, but better instructions would be good. It certainly fixed our problem with the disintegrating silicon cover on the OEM handle, without the $300 bill quoted by BMW. The installation is just not for the faint of heart.

I am a former light aircraft interior assembly tech in a factory, so I have a lot of experience installing and repairing interiors. This review should be read with that perspective in mind.Overall I'm extremely pleased with the result, but there are some aspects of this product that DIYers should know before going in.1) This product requires destructive disassembly of your door panel. Like a lot of manufactures these days, BMW used melted plastic rivet construction of the door panel sub-assemblies. The only option for removing said sub-assemblies is to drill the "head" of the rivets off. If you're not familiar with this technique, you should research some YouTube videos before starting. If you improperly drill them, there won't be any material for the new fasteners to attach to. So be sure to get this step right.2) The general idea with the kit is that you'll drill the rivets holding the arm rest sub-assembly on, replace the door pull handle, then *screw* everything back together. Keep this in mind as you're pulling it apart. Make sure you have material for the screws to go into, and make sure you have material for the head of the screw to grip on to. Also, I found it helpful to pilot drill the plastic so the screws didn't break. Use a tiny drill bit so you still get plenty of bite.3) The two bonded attachment points directly adjacent to the door pull CANNOT be re-attached in a way such that the screws hold the door pull to the rest of the door, only the arm rest. I know that's a mouthful, but basically, the door pull will be screwed to the arm rest, but not the rest of the door panel. This is a pretty big departure from the original construction of the panel. I'm a little worried about longevity, but there are fasteners that hold the door pull directly to the door itself, rather than relying on the panel (also typical) for closing force, so this isn't a huge deal. With the three points above in mind, I'm still rating this kit 5-stars. The value cannot be ignored. The "official" fix is to replace the door panel, which is almost $1,200 from reputable parts suppliers. Huzzah! So for $30, you have to undertake a destructive disassembly, and apply a little ingenuity in repair and re-assembly.The quality of the part itself feels good. It has a nice soft touch, but it doesn't have the "squishy" top layer like the BMW one. If you're nervous about durability, order two. Since the panel is screwed back together, you can now repeat this repair without destroying your panel. Win-win!
