This item, (JBL Professional Gas Assist Speaker Pole – M20 Threaded Lower End, 38mm Pole and 35mm Adapter) (JBLPOLE)ASIN: B00KCUS07S, is flimsy compared to other, heavier weight brand names. That of course makes it simpler to carry but leaves a doubt in my mind of it's overall strength.The 35 mm adapter on top is thin aluminum & it rattles excessively, I had to put rubberized tape around the base to secure it.The plastic grip handle used to pull down/lower your equipment is slippery hard plastic. I also had to wrap that with grip tape. I’ve seen other brands of speaker poles here on amazon with the internal hydraulic assist feature for 1/3 of the price of this JBL. I wish I had checked them out first. It’s going to leave me questioning my decision on this purchase.

Perfect for heavier speakers or someone with lower back issues! So many years lifting heavy amps and speakers has taken its toll and know I’m not alone. Bought these used from Amazon and saved 50 bucks. They are like new in original packaging so assume they’re used as a demo or something. Super sturdy and will last a lifetime! Don’t go after knock off “cheap” stands get these and be done with it.

Very solid and allows speakers to be raised and lowered with minimal effort. Screwing it in is a hassle but I guess it's the new norm.
