I compared this bulb with others in the same category and found this to be the best design. I would avoid LED's without a magnifying lens because they just illuminate the taillight projector housing. Instead, this led has two SMD's with a strong magnifying lens. The lens projects the light behind the car so you can see better. The only downside is the black color. I wish it was a white color to blend in with the taillight projector housing.

They are bright. Make backing up in the dark with tinted windows a lot easier

Installed in a 2016 Nissan Maxima, about 3 months ago. Lights were a perfect fit, although they were somewhat finicky regarding polarity (I had to install, check to see if they turned on when put in reverse, and if not, rotate 180 degrees). Super bright LEDs (almost too bright at night, when standing directly behind the car). They don’t help provide better lighting to the rear view camera, unfortunately, but every driver behind you or within a wide view will see your reverse lights on when backing up. Will revisit this post if they fail within a year, but so far, I’d recommend and buy again.

Bought these for my 2013 Honda Civic EX Sedan. Much brighter (blindingly) than the original stock bulbs. Installation was painless and easy. Packaging was great. I bought the red version for my tail lights, which will be in shortly.Highly recommend this product. Will update on the longevity of these bulbs.

I have three vehicles that use the 921 type lamp. I purchased three different versions of the JDM ASTAR Extremely bright lamps for backup illumination. The product pricing was $15, $20, and $30 per set of two. The illumination of the lamps was very comparable across all three. I did not try all three in the same vehicle which would be a better more direct comparison. However, I can assure any interested individual the lamps are much brighter than factory lamps. My brother-in-law stated they were nearly as bright as headlamps. The lamps do not have the focused beam or throw of head lamps. My preference is the focused LED black housed round version. Only because they fit the lamp base much better than the two flat or rectangular style lamps did. These have a tapered circuit board material that does not seat as fully and may vibrate out on rough roads.

2.5months installed, no burnt out LEDs or flickering. My pictures show one of these installed on the driver-side and a CHEAP ebay bulb on the passenger side. These are brighter, less blue, softer spread, and broader spread. The pic from inside is dead center... you can tell that these bleed over the 1/2way point in the middle because they spread so much. This is will vary among vehicles since they all have different reflector shapes, but I think the harsh cut from the LEDs pointed straight back is the important part here. Gradual is MUCH better.They are fairly long, but work fine as reverse lights... they BARELY fit in the front corner/marker lights of my '09 Xterra.... but I was afraid they would get too hot and cause issues (since they would be on CONSTANTLY and touched the inside of the housing).One clear lens on the top of the light had come off during shipping, but I super glued it back on. Superglue WILL fog the lens, so use VERY little.If these start flickering or burn out, I'll try to report back with a life span.

Unbelievably bright bulb. I installed as back up bulb replacement for my 08 Ram 2500 and they fit perfectly. The light is very white and I can now see at night reversing. Also good warning to others as the brightness is hard to ignore.

Just got these lights in the mail,very fast. Put them in my 2011 f150 and damn! they are super bright. I now am able to see better backing up my long dark driveway . Going to order more replacement lights from JDM. ASTAR.

Really wanted bright backup lights and they deliver! Would buy again.With my F150 backup lights, these point straight back so the lens points directly backwards. This is perfect for them and better than stock when looking back and when looking at my backup cam.If one doesn't work just put a small bend in the wire across the contact area. These types of bulbs use a wire that makes contact with the socket. If the wire is towards the side, it won't make contact in the socket. This is common with this style design not specic to this particular bulb. Had to adjust one of mine and they work great. Just posting additional information to save someone from returning something that's actually totally fine. Going to buy another set for my rear can light. Hope this helps

I used these to replace the 921 bulbs that lit the bed of my 2012 F-250.I first tried another brand, which ended up being too long. The 921 bulbs are 1.5" long, as are these. Any longer and the socket will not fit in the 3rd brake/bed light in these trucks.I saw some of the JDM ASTAR reviews of other sizes, so decided to pull the trigger on these.Are they expensive? Yes.Are they worth it? Yes.They are truly brighter than the OEM halogen 921s (12-15w) but with less heat, more durability, and a modern look. There are no problems with beam pattern, as some LEDs have. The color is bright white (~4300k), which is exactly what I wanted. The closer to sunlight, the better. I have Rigid LED lights throughout the vehicle and am happy that these match.Even though these aren't available via Prime (bummer), they ship via USPS First Class, which is 2-3 days. I received them in 2 days (I am in TX).I would happily recommend these to anyone looking for a high quality LED bulb that is truly brighter than stock.

Just let me start out saying I am not new to using led bulbs. I have went thru several brands with different chip set in various sizes for 3 different cars over the last 5 years. The jdm astar max 50 watt are by far the brightest leds I have ever tried. I have several friends that have purchased LEDs as well and they all ask me where the $&@# did I get such bright bulbs from. The price point on these are alittle on the high side but higher end products demand higher end cost. The build quality on these are also much better than other brands I have tried. Yes you can buy a very bright set at the local parts house for half the price but I promise you they will pale in comparison to the brightness of these LEDs. I cannot comment on the longevity of these as I haven't had them very long but I am confident from the feel of the way these are built they will last. Plus they give a 1 year warranty. I've had some from parts house go out in a few weeks and they wouldn't return them. And last id like to add that I've ordered 5 different sets of LEDs from jdm astar all high quality and all arrived undamaged and days before expected arrival date. I will be ordering more lights from this company.
