These need to be used with hardened washers or they will cut into the heads at the hex part. With washers I only had about 1/4" of threads actually used. They use 5/8" socket which is too big to fit in the small cast areas of the heads.

These sbc head bolts are very well made and are affordable. They came in 3 different sealed packages because sbc 350 uses 3 different length head bolts. The short ones around the spark plugs, medium ones at the corner of the heads and the long ones in the other locations. The bolts have the oem style 5/8” hex head and also come with thread sealer already applied to them. Saves me the trouble and expense of buying and applying the thread sealer. In the package you get the bolts to seal up both cylinder heads. I placed a drop of oil under the head of the bolts as the instructions recommended and then tightened them down in 3 steps to 70 ft lbs. My sbc 350 is coming together.
