Used to retain wheels on lawn tractor utility cart. Been several years now over rough terrain, and they stay put. Easier than cotter pins and they can be easily adjusted on axle shaft if needed.

What's not to love?Unless its made of stale bread or poorly tapped, what more could you ask?It's steel, quality hex head set screw and the right size. Best value of all the options, shipped next day.

I use these on a solid axle food plot machine. The original had a set screw that just pressed the surface. It was not a great design and failed in the field several times. I gave up tightening it over and over plus I did not always have the right tool.This clamp style is more reliable and applies more force to keep it from moving. After one season it has worked flawlessly. I see no reason for it to fail. Even if gave up, I have have spares because the price was very reasonable.

Exactly as advertised. This fixed the “wheel off” on my DR Chipper after the tin star washer inside the push on plastic hubcap failed. I had removed the cap once before and they appear to be single use. It fit the 5/8 shaft and snugged up nicely with the single set screw. They seem like they will last. Time will tell about rusting, my only concern.

Split collars are used where you want a tight grip on a shaft without having a set screw leave a mark in the shaft. Single split collars group more uniformly than double split colors but cannot be forced onto as wide as range of deviations in shaft size.These collars seem to be well made and so far are working well. Open the bag carefully as on mine several of the screws had come out of the collars and I very nearly lost them.

These fit better than I ever imagined they could on my chipper's 5/8-inch axle, slid on without binding or play, and then tightened nicely without marring the shaft. A perfect part, but to be safe I squirted it with EDIT: After some months I started to build my own cart and went looking for a similar diameter axle at my local orchard type store where I found shaft collars this size, $11 each. A couple of days later it was sandpaper, $9 for 5 sheets. Although I feel it's important to shop locally, I guess it's better for everyone to buy parts like this on Amazon, as the local price reflects a massive struggle to stock it.

Well machined product, good tolerances and black oxide coating provides anti-corrosion properties. The single set screw makes installation smooth and the inside split opposite the set screw allow a snug fit. I have a chipper and the wheels would come off while moving, as the old locking collars had slipped off at some time. These worked perfectly.
