This is a low raised bed. We're using it as a scratching/composting area in our chicken run. No issues assembling it. All of the nuts and screws worked well, and had zero thread issues (which is something I've experienced previously with other beds I've purchased). Although it's a lesser quality, it does have some reinforcement bars in the middle. And honestly, it's still competitively priced given that it is a value option that you're paying less for. If this item is in your budget more so than others, it's still a 5ish star for what you're getting from a value.

Going by the weight test this is well made. Comes all flat packed with directions that are just 1 page and simple to follow. Can't assemble this atm since the ground is frozen. Will update the review after the last frost in spring.

Nice quality garden bed. Tedious assembly, but well worth it. I usually like my garden beds a taller, so I don't ruin my back, and the height also detour pests. But, this shorter bigger bed works absolutely perfect of anything in the allium family. This bed could have you and your entire neighborhood set for any garlic or onion you want. because of the size, I think this would also be great for trailing veggies like sweet potatoes or gourds. Looks beautiful in the yard with the shine.

This raised bed is pretty high quality. While I assembled it I didn't see a single rough edge or sharp corner, which is a feat in its self. Be aware this comes as like twelve, 2 foot pieces of sheet metal and a million nuts and bolts. They send a little pair of gloves with this that I actually wore and they worked well. They have the little rubber nubs on them and make grabbing the little bolts easy. THey also protect you from possible cuts (again, I had zero sharp edges.)I found that using a impact driver was the saving grace of assembly (mind void any warranty, so impact at your own risk.) I hand threaded each nut on a few threads and just placed my finger on the bolt head and then used the impact to snug it waaay down. Worked a treat! The completed planter was sturdy enough to ride in the back of my Ranger over to the garden without falling apart. Now to get some dirt in it!

I didn't realize when ordering that this is made of small (roughly two foot lengths) instead of longer pieces. Not a huge deal as it comes together OK but with more bolts. The panels are a bit thin and would be better if thicker. They tend to warp a little when building so I'm wondering what the long term will look like once filled with dirt for a while. Easy to put together and simple instructions. Looks good when complete. The cross brace in the middle seems very sturdy and better than some others I've seen. Great purchase for the price. Don't just buy one! I'll probably order another one soon.

What a great raised bed! It’s simple to assemble and is nice and sturdy with the cross brace. I like this brace much better than just going straight across. The size is fantastic for a backyard garden; we plan to use this bed for our tomatoes. It’s just deep enough that you can add some branches and yard waste and stuff under your soil for some decomposition but not so deep that it’s gonna take a ton of soil and such to fill. I love the caps that cover the corners. I will say that other beds I’ve purchased came with stakes to put in the holes in the corners to stake into the ground; this bed did not come with any. They aren’t really necessary, once filled it shouldn’t go anywhere but it does have the holes so I’m curious if they just forgot them in the box. But since it’s not necessary still very happy with this bed!

Note: This is the first garden bed I own and I am fairly new to gardening. As a way of background and point of view, I live and rent in Puerto Rico (hot, humid, sunny climate), am a DIY klutz, and I am a bit physically challenged as far as moving about is concerned.TLDR - Overall impression (4.25/5: why 5-star rating?): The garden bed is rectangular and appears solid enough. The instructions are mostly clear. All the needed parts are there including tools. The metal pieces are rounded where needed and fairly sanded otherwise. I was able to assemble this on my own using their included safety gloves and tools. It is (mostly) as advertised and you should get many seasons of use out of it. It is smaller than a true 4x8x1’; however, not dramatically so.While I think that the two deductions (see all below) are justified, I still feel comfortable rating this an Amazon 5-star because none are true full-fledged negatives. This is a very solid 4.5 product at absolute minimum and going down to 4 stars would not be honest - or fair! So 5 star it is.-----------Background: I was initially interested in this product because I have a space in the garden that needed a raised bed. There is a lot of small leftover construction debris in the garden ground and a raised bed made sense in order not to dig through and clean everything underneath. The debris, ironically, should help with drainage.First impressions (4.75/5): The actual package was about 12.5”x3.5”x24.5” inside its Amazon shipping box. The product is Chinese. Everything was properly packaged to maximize space. The nuts and bolts are in a bag (I got 72 of each – you need 68 for this model) and they include the tools to fasten everything. There's a pair of protective gloves that appear Small/Medium size but are very elastic. The instruction sheet is very basic but anyone should be able to follow it. The metal pieces seem sturdy and all the cuts seem basically clean (note that the “length” pieces are of one length and the “width” ones of another). The only quibble I had with packaging was that it had an 11¼”x11¼”x¼” piece of polystyrene which, as a gardener, I would prefer to see replaced by cardboard. The quarter-point deduction is solely for the polystyrene piece.Metal Safety (5/5): Having worked in the sheet metal industry before, I was interested in the edges of the metal pieces as I know you can cut yourself easily and those are nasty. The edges that would eventually be in contact by a hand (once assembled) were ROUNDED and there is a grey plastic pop-on top for the corners (this also indicates their “up” side). The edges that would never really be touched, other than during assembly, were clean enough. Still, there were some bits and pieces of non-smooth metal around the punch holes and edges so, please use the included safety gloves!!! Also, once assembled, there will be non-smooth edges around the bed where the various plates are screwed on together so you might nick your shins if not careful.Pre-assembly upgrade: As I live in Puerto Rico, I know that galvanized metal suffers quickly from rust, so I took the extra step of spray painting all the pieces with a protective coat of metal spray paint (the type you can spray on metal, plastic, etc.). The extra thickness of the paint layer does not impede the installation. Other than aesthetic reasons, if you live in an area where rust is less of an issue, or you like the plain grey metal look, the painting is obviously optional. Since I was using leftover paint from a previous project, I opted for a yellow on the outside to reduce heat absorption, which increases dirt temperature, while using a dark green for the inside where color doesn’t matter. I now have a Yellow Submarine garden bed…Assembly (5/5): The assembly is really plug-and-play if one includes the concept of nuts and bolts. The instruction sheet is basically clear to follow. Also, the “bottom” of the corner pieces (the one with a metal part) has a hole in it that you could use to anchor the bed better into the ground. That is not included but I used two 6” garden staples in each; the hole wasn’t large enough for a third. After assembly, I spray-painted the exposed parts of the nuts and bolts as well in their respective colors. While working at ground level is very difficult for me, with a little patience, I was able to assemble this all on my own.Post Assembly Observations (4.5/5): This raised garden bed is not a true advertised 8’x4’x1’ (96x48x12”). It is slightly smaller because it has metric sizes (240x120x29cm). So, technically, it is ~94.49x47.24x11.42 inches. This works out to a difference of ~2.5 cubic feet less of volume so you only need some 29.5 cubic feet of earth to fill it instead of 32. Since this isn’t the space station, the difference is not a big deal for me but it should have been mentioned. I don’t think the plants will really care one way or another about a ~1.51x0.76x0.58-inch difference but it might be an issue for by-the-book Square Foot gardening types… Still, a ½ point deduction for a slightly misleading listing (and all measurements on the Amazon page were in imperial as of this review).Final thoughts: I think this product is solid enough (being my first ever) and at a price point comparable to its competition that I saw (within +/- 10% or so). I happen to like the “square” corners as it maximizes space, but recognize that in extreme high wind situations (hurricanes for us), rounded would be better.I hope this review was helpful to you and happy gardening to all!!!
