My nephew opted to learn flute over the usual guitar or keyboards at school, so I couldn't resist treating him to some prog-rock flute classics!At this modest purchase price, this is a decent value collection of some of Jethro Tull's greatest songs, with the emphasis on the flute solos (Bungle in the Jungle is the perfect starting point).Great product.

Das Songbook ist ein guter Anhaltspunkt für die Lieder von Jethro Tull. Es enthält nicht nur die Flötensoli sondern auch die Noten für Ian Andersons Gesang. Teilweise sind die Lieder zum Original etwas abgewandelt (wahrscheinlich um längere Pausen in einem Stück zu vermeiden und um es als Solist flüssig durchzuspielen). Auch Akkorde für die Begleitung mit Klavier oder Gitarre sind angegeben.Einen Stern ziehe ich ab, da längere Flötensoli nicht enthalten sind und der all time Favorit Locomotive Breath nicht enthalten ist.Mit meiner 13-jährigen Querflöten Erfahrung hatte ich keine Probleme die Stücke zu spielen.

I bought the music for my 12 yr old daughter, who is a budding flute musician. She absolutely loves the music and has been inspired to practice even more than she already does! Bouree' is her favorite.

For intermediate to advanced skilled players, a wonderful compilation of great pieces of music. I must say I needed to listen more to the original songs to fully comprehend how to play.Great packaging, arrived on time as planned.

I bought this book for Bouree, but there were definitely some other Jethro Tull favorites I would have liked to see in here. The arrangement for Bouree is perfect, and even a relative beginner will have no trouble playing at least the first section of the song.My only complaint is that the book wasn't longer. If a Volume 2 comes out, I'll definitely buy it.

Bought this book for Bouree which was very well transcribed and didnt disappoint (transcription 5*) with different parts accurately marked including the interplay of harmonics - found belatedly that this is also available on the web as a free download! Nevertheless, good to have a hardcopy.Even for the one song, Bouree, it is well worth it. Hvg the score helps one decipher the moroe difficult jazzy parts.

I purchased this book for my middle school age daughter last year. She had been playing flute for about 3 years. She has been to a couple Jethro Tull concerts and had much exposure to their music since I have been a Tull fan for many many years. She was delighted (as was I) to find out that she could play the music at first sight read. And, it sounded just like the record! There is a preface that explains how to do some of the unusual techniques that Ian uses, which really seemed to help her since she is classically trained. I feel this book is very well done and would definitely recommend it to any flute playing Jethro Tull fan. When will book II be out!?!?
