For a much less expensive alternative to the name brand, this jig saw functions well and is definitely worth it. It's fast and has worked well with my testing. It lacks some conveniences of my older corded tool, but has some improvements in other areas. There are a number of things I don't like, though. I'll start with the manual. It gives a speed of 0-2,700 rpm, yet the tool says 800-3,500rpm. It mentions three cutting actions (0, I, II, and III), yet the tool only has three (0, 1, and 2). (The diagram on page 2 is clearly different than the full-color cover, which is correct.) It mentions an anti-splintering device, yet it's not included. It mentions the use of a hex key to make adjustments and indicates where it can be stored, yet I didn't get one in the box or already in the storage.I don't care for the dust cover, so I've kept it off. Then again, the cylinder is a lot easier to use than my corded one (also a rotation, but you have to use two fingers and if you start in the wrong position you have to let go and adjust). The plastic cover for the bottom is a nice addition, something my corded one doesn't have. The bevel adjustment is solid, though I guess I've been spoiled with my cheap, corded tool, which has a lever lock on the side that's easy to use on the fly, with no need for a hex key (which I guess I have to provide and which can be hard to work with if you're wearing gloves). It's not all bad, and for the price and origin, these kinds of issues seem to be pretty typical. The tool is smaller and lighter than my corded one, too, and feels good in the hand. The LED light is a nice addition. My old corded tool has a blade storage on the side, though I really don't care for that since it often just leads to more noise from rattling than it does convenience.Overall, I'm generally pretty happy with the tool based on my typical use. I tend not to adjust the bevel, do plunge cuts, or do anything else in my work that would require a hex key for this one. As noted earlier, with the dust cover removed, changing of blades is a lot easier. The convenience of a battery is nice, too.

This Jig Saw is great! It comes with a bunch of blades which is very handy. Getting the blade locked in is very easy, though instructions would have made it quicker. I determined that you need to remove the plastic guard and twist the ring. Once the blade is in you turn the ring back and the blade is locked in. Snap the plastic guard back on and you're ready to roll. There is another adjustment on this that allows for the blade to travel back more or less. I'm not sure what the use case would be with this but it's there. After unboxing this I immediately put in a blade and attached one of my batteries. I grabbed a piece of scrap wood and did a quick test cut. It was great! The blade cut through without a problem and the saw was very easy to handle. Overall this performed well, and I'm glad I was able to add it to my toolbox.

This is a good jig saw and works perfectly with the name brand batteries. Note it does not include the battery. Plug in the battery and squeezed the trigger and it instantly started running. I used it to cut some MDF for a speaker box I'm building and had no issues at all. Even adjusted the bottom plate and cut some angles on the MDF. Good product.

This jigsaw fits OEM batteries and seems to cut well without bogging. So it meets minimum viability, but there are minor issues. The light is bright and lights the work surface. The trigger is smooth and modulates the speed well. The trigger lock works as expected. The blade change process is sub-par. First you have to remove the plastic guard held with plastic clips, then you can turn the spring loaded collar, which occasionally sticks. The blades are tight going in and out. Then you have to reinstall the plastic guard, which doesn't fit well and has to be angled in from one specific direction because of poor molding. Other jigsaws just have one lever you lift. You get just two blade types: speed metal and speed wood. There are several of each and two sizes of wood, but the TPI is the same. There is no Allen key to adjust the saw. One is mentioned in the manual, but it was missing. It's supposed to store in the base. I think this is because the entire base was changed to a cheaper version. The manual shows a base with an open throat and modular insert for tear out reduction. The actual product has a single piece of stamped metal. The base has a plastic cover to protect surfaces, but good luck removing it if you need to. There are a couple of pressure points to bend the plastic clips to remove the cover, but the clips are too long, so you have to push really hard and bruise your fingers to get the plastic cover off. The metal is smooth and free of burrs. After I file down some of the plastic bits to make them easier to use and find a spare Allen key, this saw will be fine. I guess I miss the days when tools just worked well out of the box.

I am very impressed with this cordless jigsaw. I tried this out yesterday and it works like a charm. Blades are easy to change in and out and I did not have any problems cutting various materials. The regular Dewalt batteries work as intended with this jigsaw and it feels comfortable in my hand. The led light is a nice touch that I don't have on the corded one that's currently sitting in my tool box. Only time will tell regarding quality and longevity, but so far so good!
