Once you install it, you won't be able to take it off, unless you want it to take the finish and wood's top fibers off as well. It also dampens the sound and cuts some frequencies. I could see this on some cheap gig guitars but don't use it on concert classical guitars.

Its extremely thin piece of plastic sheet. Too much thin like a paper. And they have charged very high for this. Highly overpriced

Good product if you are a classical guitar player, but if you play Flamenco, this is not for you. The film is not thick at all, and the fingernails would go right through it.

The pickguard is only as good as the finish of the guitar. Only reason for the 4 rating is that on one of the 12 that I ordered, there was a particle speck embedded in the adhesive side of the guard. Quality control should have picked up on that.Other than that, it's a great product. Been using them for many years to protect the delicate guitar soundboards.

Have used Herco's transparent pick guards for years and love the product. Although in a recent review I'd read a customer complaint that they'd received the product folded in half and stuffed in a floppy envelope rendering the product ruined as it creases the plastic and ruins the adhesive ability. THIS HAPPENED TO Me, (I ordered 2 of them), and they sent left handed versions to boot--not what I had ordered. I disgarded one guard and savaged the other by cutting it down to custom size for a smaller guitar that I was applying it too.

I paid $6 and then $6 for postage to Asia. The person in the Amazon warehouse who shipped it to me decided to fold it and put it in an envelope that was too small, so when I received it had a permanent crease in it. The material is thin. A real waste of money.

Great to find pick guard as originally applied to Kif Wood STORM Acoustic Guitar. Perfect!

You can expect this product to provide protection against minor scratches and impacts against protected surface from typical playing. You can get away with some scratches with a pick too. Almost unnoticeable, easy to stick and easy to remove with hair dryer, plastic card and some patience. Should not be used as flamenco golpeadores.I give it 5 stars because this is exactly was I was looking for. I have put these on two Takamine guitars that I wanted to protect.

The circle isn't a perfect fit on the sound hole of my classical guitar, but that's to be expected since sound hole diameters vary. It's close enough where I didn't bother (nor need) to trim it. It covers the area my nails will be hitting and that's what matters. It's very clear against my spruce top and I'm happy with the added protection it provides. It may just be in my head, but I felt like it had a dampening effect on the guitar's volume and higher tone range once applied to the sound board. Even if true, that is a plausible / reasonable expectation for resting something on the top and not a product fault. Just wanted to share.

Quality clear vinyl top and bottom tape plates. Easy to apply. Practically unnoticeable on the guitar. I think they are a necessity on a classical guitar that is used for flamenco, or with a pick (think Willie Nelson). Will show bubbles on damaged or worn finish. I can't say if removing them will damage the finish further, but I don't see any reason to ever do that...
