Canister addition is good and needed because they made the original way to small, so unfortunately it's a must buy or you're going to be constantly emptying the original small catch can.

As you may/may not know, the pre-2017 F150 motors had no way to clean the valves from waste. This extension was much needed especially on longer trips with my 30’ travel trailer. It never got full as I always checked it regularly, but with the extension I had no worries. Maybe not a “MUST” but for piece of mind to make sure your engine stays as clean as possible, a great buy!!

Threading on extension would not work with the oil separator. Be cautious if you want to purchase as they require you to pay for return shipping. Very disappointing
