I purchased these for my eight year old son, so he could cast bigger baits and not worry about the line cutting his fingers. They worked so well that I put then on my poles as well

This is a simple device that is used on a surf spinning rod to protect your index finger from braided lines when casting 4 oz or heavier rigs. It is meant to attach to the rod with tape or cable ties.This version looks similar to other versions and appears to be well-made. We’ll see how well the metal components hold up to salt water.Update: It is easy to set up and use and I was able to improve casting distance. There is no sign of corrosion yet. My index finger has been saved from damage.

Always afraid to really blast out the cast but now have improved distance casting. Wife thought it was a gimmick but after seeing the first cast she conseeded it worked. Seems well made and advertised.
