This is nice. We have a cat that will only take pills by trickery or by force. The trickery doesn’t always work and trying to force a very uncooperative cat to take a pill is hazardous. This pill popper tool makes it a lot quicker and easier though. It works well for us. With a bit of good luck, you can hold the cat with one hand and shoot a pill down its throat with the other.

After struggling with my 15 year old hyperthyroid cat for 2 years to get pills in her twice a day, either in her food, or with pill pockets or churu, this is wonderful!!! I hold her like a baby, hold her front paws and slide the tip in the side of her mouth and back a bit. Then push the plunger and shut her mouth till she swallows. She was down to 6lbs and now is almost 8 again since getting her meds consistently! She's happier and not crying all the time. She is off death row!

We have an old cat with IBS who needs several pills each day to keep him from being sick all over the house. He can be very resistant and my husband isn't usually able to get the pills in him when I'm away. This device makes it a LOT easier. Both pills can get loaded in at the same time and when he opens his mouth to meow the silicone tip can slip in from the side. It's a quick process and less traumatic for the cat and my husband. The silicone tip seems secure on the device (like others have mentioned, you do NOT want this coming off in your pet's mouth) and it holds the small pills without an issue. This is a very simple and highly effective device! I regret not getting it a long time ago.

It will cost you twice what you paid to return this. The piller came in nothing more than an envelope. No product packaging or seal. Definitely not usable for small pills. Waste of money.

I was really hoping this piller would be like the old Jor-Vet ones I bought about 4 years ago. The basic unit itself is the same, but what changed - and what I noticed with other pillers I've bought in the meantime - is that the tip is now made of a very soft white silicone. The old version's tip was made of a very firm but flexible clear vinyl. The silicone wants to hold onto the pill or capsule, maybe even more so if it gets wet, so when you depress the plunger oftentimes the capsule will still be stuck in the piller or will have released too late as you pull back, landing in the animal's fur. This did not happen with the old version. Unfortunately it seems like most of these shooter-type pillers are now using this soft white silicone tip, which for me is unusable. I hope I can find a stash of the old pillers somewhere.

I’ve used this for over a week now. This product makes it possible to give my cat the pills she needs. It takes a small #5 capsule. I tried medicating her without a pet piller and it was next to impossible. It’s not the best quality, and it doesn’t come apart for cleaning, but I run water through it, soaping the end, and let it air dry with the plunger pulled out. It’s printed on the syringe that it’s “Single use only” which is obviously not how I’m using it, but it works and gets the job done.

We have a senior dachshund who has a cervical disc problem and requires pretty constant pain medications and muscle relaxers. He will NOT open his mouth to take pills, clamps his jaw tighter than a vice grip. We've tried everything, manually prying his mouth open, which is so traumatic for him and us. He still spits the pills out. The vet said try placing the pills in a number of things, liverwurst, you name it - nothing doing. She said try Cheese Whiz and he LOVES that, but he will spit the pills out as soon as he detects them. So with this little gadget, I insert the pill at the tip, dip it in cheese whiz, he opens his mouth and I slide it to the back of his throat, shoot it in and boom! This is so easy and trauma free for all of us. He doesn't even really know what happens, he just wants more cheese whiz. Nasty stuff! At any rate, this is a little miracle gadget. If you've tried everything but this to administer pills in your pet, get it. You won't be disappointed.
