It is always good to install new gaskets after a tear-down and rebuild.However, that being said, the gaskets I had received and installed did not perform well.There was not enough girth or thickness in the Bottom or possibly the Top head gasket.My piston started "hammering" causing mechanical damage to the inside of the head combustion area. Jug and head studs stripped and finally the crank case cracked open from all the excess vibration and high end torque.My advise is to be very particular about gasket thickness. Since this set is generic, it may need an extra shim worth of thickness or an exact fit gasket to prevent mechanical failure.
