I needed to replace my plastic toilet seat. I decided to go with a bold colour so I looked up "red toilet seat" and found the J&V Round Wood Toilet Seat. It was very easy to install. This is a dandy toilet seat. It's made of wood and very solid and sturdy. It is quite heavy, which I like. I highly recommend this product. It looks fabulous in my black and white bathroom.

Do not buy this product. I am a 5 foot 110 pound woman and after less than two months use it is chipping, splitting and cracking on the lower seat portion. I am very disappointed as I updated my bathroom and really liked the way it looked. I went with a retro, beveled glass decor and the bevel on this was perfect. Makes me sad.

First up: The hinges are slightly too far apart. I was able to complete installation in spite of this on account of the hinges being plastic so I could just sort of push them into place to insert the bolts but I can tell just by looking at them that the installation is putting constant stress/pressure on them so I can't say I'll be surprised if they start to break or weaken in a few years time. The color is also a bit off-putting. It is a much brighter red than it appears in the picture - so bright that it almost looks a bit orange. My bedroom is painted a deep blood red and my shower curtain and bath mat are also deep red that match perfectly so the bright, almost neon red of the toilet seat is not at all ideal for the space. That said - it serves the purpose that one would expect a toilet seat to serve. Once bolted into place it feels sturdy, it opens and closes as it should and it's as comfortable to sit on as a toilet seat should be.

If you want a red toilet seat buy a white one that fits well and paint it the shade of red you desire. This one is OK but I had to force it to fit.
