I ordered the small size for my 20lb. Havensese dog. It was too tight and not long enough to fit the dog properly even though the tag says for dogs up to 50lbs! My plan was to re-order the medium size, but I found out that the seller is charging almost a $10.00 return fee. I may also get a processing fee charge since the bag they sent it in was opened and it could no longer be resealed properly. I am sending it back in a box to UPS. I would not recommend ordering because of the inaccurate description on sizing, and the return policy.

I have a 40lb beagle who is 5yrs old this February (2025). Yeah she is a bit overweight. LolShe goes everywhere with me and so I had been trying to figure out how to take her on my bike for years.This doggie backpack works like a charm. It is not uncomfortable and it fits snug around my shoulders, chest, and waist. I do recommend.

Size XL Knavigate. 50lb. 29” chest. 23” back.Very happy with this bag, great quality, design, and attention to detail. Bag has good space vertically, good space side to side, smidge more space front to back wouldn’t hurt. My primary use is for motorcycle rides. I would say if your planning to use for running, hiking, bicycle rides, more turbulent activities, colder temps or a “thicker” sr or mobility challenged pup in the upper size range on the knavigate model that the larger kolossus model with the additional support and space would be better. Overall the bag was a little more pricey but it certainly is not a poorly built gimmicky toy like many of the others I looked at and is worth the cost (it’s wayyy cheaper than getting another motorcycle with a sidecar too lol).

We have a senior mini poodle who still loves to hike but tires more quickly than he used to. We give him breaks by toting him in this pack. He thinks he's pretty cool and looks the part.He's 20 pounds, not a chubber, and the medium is a good size for him. We bought the 3" booster pad which gives him extra lift and comfort.Highly recommend this pack for carrying your pup as needed. Bonus points for storage compartments and comfort to the human pup-toter.We also bought the personalized name tag that attaches by velcro for a few extra bucks because...aren't all pups worth it? :)

We purchased this as our 11yr old border is still full of beans but can’t go the distances he used to when we are on our bikes. We started by letting him sniff the bag all over and with one of us putting it on and then gently placing him in the bag while the wearer is wearing the bag securely and sat down. We thought our boy may wriggle a bit, but he sat in it happily first time and enjoyed being walked around the garden to view it in a new perspective- high up! He was thoroughly contented. We did this a few times. Each time, he was happy as Larry. We did exactly the same with ‘his dad’ being ready on the bike. Bag on first, then gently putting him in, placing his paws through the paw holes, zipping up carefully and securing the clips for comfort and security, then off we all went (me on my bike following) we went a short distance and he just absolutely loved it. We go for miles now and he gets to enjoy the destinations (beach/forest etc. for a couple of hours) then he looks forward to a lovely lift home. He has monitored health issues which means his will is there and exercise is still good and essential, but he can’t over do it, so we use it for getting to places he loves. It also means that we all get to be together for days out. We can cover great distances on our bikes but we always make stops and this bag is so simple in allowing you to do that. A zip and two clips and away you go. This bag is for him after all, so it had to right. Sometimes we start with him doing all his walking, scenting and chasing and then pop him in when we know he’s exceeded his quota and other times we use it straight away, but only because he’s very happy with either. We’re sure he would’ve been a lot more wriggly a few years ago and we would only have used it after he’d released his beans and if we knew we were going to cover a great distance. I have read worrying views on these bags in general, from people with the wrong mentality. This is not ever to be used instead of exercise, unless your dog has very limited mobility and even then, it is only to be used as an aid in the quality of life for your dog. Border terriers (along with many other breeds) have an insurmountable amount of energy and endurance. They can go on and on. Know your dog/puppy/senior/health issues etc. Be informed, use gently, carefully and wisely. A dog must scent, meet and greet and do all the wonderful things a dog needs to do. These bags are an aid and support to their lives. Some reasons but not limited to for having one of these bags in your life:Puppies before vaccination to socialise off ground or to use when puppy bones are still strengthening and have had a lovely but not overdone walkies. Intermittent use for extensive walks, hikes, cycling journeys. For detachment issues, for holidaying when you need your dog with you at all times. You’re not restricted to how long you go out for. Senior mobility issues, you don’t always have to leave them at home (using your knowledge of you dog of course. They, like us, need some down/quiet time, but if there’s also an option for them to come out with you, then that’s great for them and you) health issues, same again, depending on what issues they are, you now have the option for them to be by your side and let them out in new places, rather than not taking them at all. It means they don’t only get to go out in the garden or up the road because that’s all they can manage, it gives them new stimulation and lease of life. Dogs love to be with you and vice versa. This bag when used thoughtfully, accordingly, sensibly and to your dog’s individual needs/issues etc..is a gift. We are absolutely over the moon with this addition to all our lives.The quality of this bag, material, ventilation, fixings and simplicity of is brilliant and reflected in the price. Never use a standard rucksack! This is specifically built for it’s purpose; your beloved, hairiest family member❤️. It gets full marks from us.If you have a particularity hyper, wriggly breed, do think carefully before you buy. It’s not for every fur baby. Make sure, whatever you have or do, that they’re given the time they need to get used to it and are very comfortable before you go out and about.

This was great for when our dog was getting older. We weren't able to go on hikes with him because he was was slowing down and getting tired. This backpack let us take him on trips. He was very comfortable and would fall asleep at times while we were on the trail.Basenji 28lbs. We used the yoga block and a small blanket to pad the bottom. It took a couple of time to get him used to putting it on, but never had a problem once he was in it.Both me and my wife have carried him in it. The bag is not supper comfortable, but manageable. Especially to get our Cairo out on the trails.

Overall solid bag that is well made. I agree with some reviewers that I think the bottom of the bag where my dog’s butt and feet go should certainly be more comfortable. That thing feels like a brick. Should definitely have some high quality padding in there to make him feel more comfortable and to be better on his joints and hips. I plan on putting a soft thin yoga towel in there to get some cushion. One thing is that you don’t want to put your dog in with the bag standing vertical, you’ll want him to lay down on all fours and slide it under and strap him in (luckily my dog is smarter than me and literally showed me how to do it because my boyfriend and I were trying to git him to sit in the bag when it was vertical.) overall the bag is well made and I’m happy with it. Do I think it’s over priced? Maybe. But their is no amount I wouldn’t spend to have my dog by my side (or in this case back) on a nice bike ride by the beach. He’s 32 pounds pure mutt and the large worked great.Update: I’ve used the bag more than 10 times now and here is what I would like to add to the review. Overall, I still think it’s a great bag, it’s easier to get my dog in after practice and now that he knows what to expect. I still think the bottom is extremely hard, the yoga towel does work nicely though because it’s really thin and we don’t have a ton of room to work with in there. My dog stays put really easy, although sometimes he will shift his weight when he is uncomfortable, luckily, with the way the bag is designed it doesn’t impact my bike ride and I don’t feel like either of us are in danger if he does lol. I do agree there could be more room for extra storage pockets, however, being a petite woman, I am not sure I would store much in there based on the weight of my dog. I got a bike basket for the front of the bike and that does the trick without putting too much additional weight on my person. You could use carabiners in some areas of the pack as well based on what you are trying to carry. I am really happy I bought this pack and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again.Update: 100 bike rides later. Still loving it, are you considering it? Do it. My dog practically jumps into this now, no hesitation and so happy he’s getting an experience. Once of the best if not the best purchase on Amazon. Money means making experiences for those you love and this is one of them.

My 11lbs Pomeranian loves the outdoor and this bag is perfect for her when going through rougher or more steep terrain and we have to carry her for safety. This is a great day hike backpack (approx. 5 hours), there is enough room to store treats, food and water plus things for us too.

My dog is only 5 pounds, so he’s a bit small for the xs pack. We rolled towels for him to sit on and changed the carabiner position to the front position. He does not like the arm holes, but that might be dog specific.Pack is really high quality and comfortable for long hikes. Great support.My only complaint is the storage. The side pockets are a tight fit, even for the smallest water bottles. The pockets don’t have any stretch to them. The large zipper compartment is why we bought the pack. But, the access zipper does not give you easy access to the content, it just remains a narrow opening. The other addition that wasn’t well executed is the zipper storage on the belt. The pockets are so small. You probably could, put a pen in them, that’s it.Overall, l think it’s a great buy. But, maybe they will improve the storage in the future.
