Product is cheap and does not work as described. I have tried this item twice due to returning one fir a replacement and have the same issue with the second item.

The charger is a little finicky about how the radio is set into the dock - if you're not paying attention to the charge light coming on, you can put the radio in the charger and the light doesn't come on, and presumably not charge the radio. Other than that, if you put the radio in and the light comes on, it works OK.
