Make sure you realize you will need to purchase additional hardware (lag bolts) and a ten foot long, one inch steel pipe.

The product description says a threaded or unthreaded pipe is needed (not supplied) and shows an all metal construction with U bolts. The bracket I received is quite different and requires a threaded pipe that threads into a plastic bracket. This seems very flimsy. I will be surprised if this thing lasts two weeks. Looks like I will be cutting up some angle iron and fixing this garbage. Not worth the money at all.

The product is a good example universal item for the de iced. The price is out of this world. Crazy price for what you get.

Should have brought this mount years ago. It's like having an outboard motor attached to the dock. Easy to install and control your de-icer. Instead of hanging your de-icer install this mount much more efficient.

This mount works like a charm with my 3/4 hp Kasco deicer. Without the mount I had problems controlling the direction of the water flow. With the mount it was real easy to direct the pump up, down and sideways as needed. I highly recommend this easy to install and use mount.

Used it for our first winter in the Midwest. Kept a large area around the dock from freezing. We see the swirling current extending out far. Sometimes it gurgles loudly. The only downside is you will get a big increase in your electric bills. Ours doubled each month, and then we decided to lower the connected thermostat down to 27 degrees air temp to turn it on instead of higher to keep it from running so much. And we had a mild winter. But it protects the dock. Our dock extends out 28 feet from the shoreline. The main design drawback is the manufacturer requirement to have the ropes extend across a span of 10 feet which is not possible with a single dock design only 4 feet wide. So we removed the rope and attached it with a pipe to a separately purchased dock support system. It added up over $800 with the thermostat so we hope it lasts many years.

Yes, it's just a piece of metal and is outrageously priced… But in less your machinist you will spend far more money and aggravation trying to replicate this simple piece designed specifically for your deicing unit. I was able to install this in a matter of minutes and Home Depot sells the threaded pipe that you need to attach to the deicer. The bottom line, if you need to deice a pond or lake (mine is 1 acre) you absolutely need this mounting if you have a dock to affix it to. It may be noteworthy to mention that this works off of a geothermal principle and not just water movement. By circulating warmer water from the bottom of your pond you keep it from freezing and even zero temperatures. If you purchase their thermostat this is truly a set it and forget it solution to deicing. Just my two cents.... For whatever that's worth.
