- Keel Guard for Some aluminum boat : Fishing and Jon Boats. If boat comes with raised or reinforced center keel, it cannot be raised higher than 1/4 inch and doesn't built with reinforced welding around the edge, rivets, or sharp angles
- Keel Guard for Recreational watercraft : Ski Boats, Skiffs, Dinghy, and most Jet Boats. The keel guard can be applied on slightly raised strakes and chines with applied sealant.

Warm Tips
- Recommend use 3M Primer (not included in the package) for best capabilities of the adhesive
- The keel guard should be mounted at least 4-6 inches above the waterline.
- Please do not lean against anything such as v-blocks, bunks, rollers, or bow stops for best adhesion of 3M adhesive.
- Please install the boat keel protector on good surface of the boat which doens't have poorly bonded paint, gel coat or boat bottom paint and uneven surface.
- Please keep keel guard and boat hull at the same temperature during application, recommended applying the adhesive when the hull temperature between 65°F to 100°F.

This is a very heavy duty keel guard that will protect the bottom of our boat from scratches when we beach it. It is wide enough to cover the small strake on our Tracker Classic. The instructions are pretty clear, but a little confusing, but the basic idea is, after cleaning the area and marking where the guard will go with tape, if you want, you remove the center piece of tape (there are three) and adhere the middle to the strake (in my case), then peel off one side at a time and bend and adhere the edges. It is important that all the edges adhere well so there is no place for water to get in/under, especially at speed, and start peeling the keel guard away. The adhesive is a 3M product, so top notch. The product comes with cleaning and prep materials, though you can do additional prep per the instructions if you want. However, with what the product comes with, as long as your boat is clean you should be able to get good adherence and this product will avoid scratches to the part of the boat that scrapes the most. As far as the keel guard at speed, it shouldn't have any impact on speed as it is a very low drag/low profile product and the leading edge is above the water line. It's a very nice product.
