I recently purchased the KFI Products ATV-Cont Replacement Winch Contactor, and overall, I'm quite satisfied with its performance. Installing it was relatively straightforward, especially if you're familiar with working on ATVs or winches. The wiring was clearly marked, which helped make the process smoother, though I did need to take my time ensuring everything was connected correctly.Once installed, the contactor worked as expected. My winch responded much more reliably, and I noticed the difference in the performance right away. Before replacing the contactor, my winch had been struggling, sometimes failing to engage. After the swap, it’s been working without any hiccups. One thing to note is that the build quality feels solid, and it looks like it’s going to hold up well over time. I’ve used it in both dry and muddy conditions without any issues so far. My only minor concern is that it doesn’t come with a detailed installation guide, so if you're not familiar with these types of installations, you might want to look up some tutorials. All in all, it's a reliable and well-built contactor that has brought my winch back to life. It’s a great replacement part if you’re looking for something durable and dependable.

Direct replacement for my polaris 4500 lbs winch. I installed it in the end of januart and it stops working before the end of february. On my SXS, the winch is not easy access, it's not a fun job to go work there.I'm very dissapointed in this product. I don't want to mess with a contactor every month or so.Don't buy it, it's not a quality product at all

Worked fantastic on my 2007 Polaris 500 ho sportsman with the Polaris winch. All the holes lined up with my oem contactor unlike some reviewers. The only small issue I did have that may explain what people are talking about is the bolts that go through the contactor are pretty snug going through the hole. No need to drill the hole bigger as you can just turn the bolts through.all in all very happy

Replaced the winch solenoid in a 2011 Hisun HS500 ATV-2 with this. More solid than the original and half the price of OEM. Contacts are wired Black/Battery-, Red/Battery+, Blue/Motor-, Yellow/Motor+, Black wire/Black, Green Wire/Green.Had to change the bullet connectors on the Black and Green wires to male blade connectors to hook into the ATV wiring harness. Took less than 1/2 hour to install. Tools required: #2 Robertson, 10mm wrench, wire strippers, soldering iron/torch, electronics solder, blade connectors, heat shrink tubing.

Works fine. Different wiring though, but that wasn't really any problem. and the holes didn't match the ones on the Atv , but again no big problem. Sealed the unit with silicone for more protection fromthe elements . My winch now works , that's all that counts.

I purchased the KFI contactor to replace a Warn contactor on a Arctic Cat.... the KFI contactor has 2 wires coming off of it that connects to the winch switch harness, the 3rd wire is grounded to the KFI connector.... as can be seen in photos below my Arctic Cat had 3 wires. No problem for anyone wanting to replace a 3 wire contactor with the KFI contactor for less than half the price. In pic # 1 you can see where I cut the 3 wires from my Warn contactor so I could splice into the KFI contactor and keep my original winch switch harness connecter in case I need to replace my winch switch in the future - easy plug and play...In the 2nd pic, I cut the ground wire from the harness as it is not needed as mentioned earlier because the KFI contactor is grounded to itself. I cut the KFI wire connectors off and spliced wires together, soldered and applied heat shrink as can be seen in pic # 3... best if you use the waterproof heat shrinkIn my case, green to green wires connected together and black to blue, if your winch pays in while depressing out on switch, you can correct by either swapping the green to black and blue to green or switching the yellow and gray cables at the motor connectors...Basically, I twisted wires together while letting contactor hang as seen in photos , then tested for proper operation before soldering wires. Make sure you disconnect negative terminal of battery after testing for proper operation to prevent damaging the contractor during installation..One last note, the KFI mounting holes did not match up to the Warn hole configuration, so I installed one bolt to hold contactor in place on mounting bracket and drilled a new hole in bracket through the other contactor mounting holeNot sure how to tell if your contactor is bad? If you're not hearing an audible click whenever you press both in and out on winch switch you have an issue... first ensure all your connectors are tight and free of corrosion.... if you hear an audible click on both the in and out - the contactor is working and you have issue with winch. No audible click - check switch by disconnecting or back probe with a volt ohm meter and check for 12vdc on both wires while key is on and switch depressed to on and out. If you have voltage the switch and harness are good.. To check motor, search for video on Youtube using jumper cables..Saved like $50 going with the KFI contactor instead of Warn...

I put a harbor freight 3000lbs winch on the front of my garden tractor. After 2 years the F/R contactor failed. It was a cheap winch, and I accepted that when I bought it. I bought this to replace the faulty contactor. The rocker switch plugged right in. No issue. The +/- to the winch was reversed from what I though it was, but it was trivial to flip the wires. After hooking it up I pulled about a dozen 10 to 15 foot long sections of downed black locus out of the edge of our woods so I could cut it up. 500lbs to 1000lbs depending on the thickness of the section. It worked flawlessly. The only 'con' I have with the part is the sound it makes. When I was testing after installation, the sound the contactor made when closing made me jump a foot. The SNAP sound it made when closing is about triple the sound of the original part. Being bolted to the inside of the sheet metal fender that sound made quite a boom from the inside of the tractor. I thought I shorted the battery, or the world was coming to an end. I pulled the contactor, and put thick double sided tape on the bottom and reinstalled it. That helped with the sound quite a bit.

Only used it twice to plow snow so far and it works. More than I can say for the 2 year old Warn contactor that came with the winch.Same bolt pattern as the Warn, so it bolted right up where the Warn was attached. One thing I did notice...The green wire on the KFI had a male plug, and the black wire had a female plug. The exact opposite of the Warn. So, I changed the ends so it would hook up to the plugs from the Warn rocker switch. When I hooked up the cables to the same color posts on the contactor the winch worked backwards... In went out, and Out went in. Simple fix. I simply attached the blue cable to the yellow post and the yellow cable to the blue post. Works perfect. Not sure if something is reversed in the contactor, of if KFI setup is different. Whatever the case it works fine.

this contactor fit my 550xp with some slight mods. I had to drill the mounting holes larger on both the contactor and the 4 wheeler. No big deal. Once wired up it works great. The lugs are 1/4 inch in case anyone needs to know. The mounting holes are slightly smaller than 1/4 inch. Well worth the price compared to others.
