Your cart is empty.The Kidde Smoke Detector, 10-Year Battery with LED Indicators & Replacement Alerts, model i9010, is a basic smoke detector that uses ionization sensor technology to detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. When smoke or fire is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound. The Kidde Smoke Detector is powered by a 10-year lithium battery that requires no wiring, never needs replacing, plus coverage during a power failure. A solid green LED indicates that the alarm is receiving power and a red LED indicates that the smoke detector is sensing smoke or fire. A test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as silence nuisance alarms that may occur from cooking or shower steam. The Kidde Smoke Detector will chirp when it's time to replace the battery. Install a smoke detector & carbon monoxide detector on every level of your home and near bedrooms to help keep your family safe from fire & poisonous gas. UL Certified with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty. Meets requirements of UL 217, NFPA72 (chapter 11 2002 edition), NFPA101 (One and two-family dwellings), and Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

Bought this for my girlfriend back in May cause she didn’t have one. It saved her life today. Her trash caught fire while she was in the shower. It worked as intended and she was able to get the fire out before it became a tragedy. Best purchase I have ever made.

I hate replacing smoke detector batteries every year, and with the price of everything going up, I thought a unit with a 10 year battery life would be worthwhile. Easy to install, and no more worries for 10 years!

Don't forget to test when it's activated on wall plate. Otherwise, great! May not last quite 10 years though

Reputation of this brand is stellar . I’ve had exact others that were installed years ago and were functional thru 13 or 14 years !! I do test mine every 6 months so even my units beyond the 10 year life have performed better then expected . I make a note on my calendar that every 6 months reminds me to check . Wise reminder . Testing they are loud nuff to wake the dead !

I was told that these alarms were the best to get. I did not know when I ordered that the alarms I had were disabled probably because they kept chirping. So I was glad I bought this. It won't work until you put the back on and I had a hard time doing it. But I got it finally, tested it, and it works. It will work for 10 years which is a long time. It does not fit on my old wall fixture so I just set it on a table. I will take it with me if I move. It is supposed to be the most sensitive alarm. It is bright green and looks nice. I like that it has a button to disable the alarm. It only chirps when the battery runs out. Over all, it is a worry free alarm.

Love the product so much, I bought 2 of them, replaced the old ones that looked over 20 years old, one for the kitchen and one for the hallway, only this time to have mounted on a ceiling, the one on kitchen is still on the wall due to having a slanted ceiling but the ceiling in the hallway was straight, so it was convenient for me to put one on the ceiling instead of the wall like the old one. I then bought 2 more, one for my bedroom and the other for my parents bedroom, of course I installed it on the ceiling because it's a the best place for it since smoke goes up. Overall, love this product, never have to worry about replacing the battery for years!
