I bought these fishing poles for my five-year-old twin grandson‘s birthdays. There were two poles nicely tucked in a handy carrying bag with some necessary supplies. That was really great.However, setting the polls up for use was a bit frustrating, the release of the line was a bit tricky. Kept sticking. I couldn’t cast with it. Because of the length of the pole, you really can just drop the line a few feet down. I understand they are for children, but if the line can’t reach a good length doesn’t help much. We tried to rig it like ours.By the end of their first fishing adventure. They were using them for play. We fished together using papa and grandma‘s pole. I think my suggestion would be to buy a smaller regular pole fishing with a grown-up until they’re old enough. Or if you choose to buy these, don’t expect any great performance. This was our experience.

Got this for my son and returned it the next day. The accessories are nice and were everything he needed. The "bag' was cheap and would likely fall apart quickly, but the rod seemed good until we tried to use it. The line jammed every time he tried to cast and it never worked correctly. Maybe a faulty one? It seemed like a sturdy rod and nice set for the price but we had to return it

My grandson age of 7 loves it. Very easy for him to use. Hours at the fishing pond, and he did get a fish.

I got this for my son’s graduation and he loved it and when he opened it that was the first time that I had seen what was actually in the fishing kit. It is kid friendly just know that there are sharp objects in this bag so make sure that you open it with your kid and make sure you take those objects away and keep them put away because they are sharp and they are real fishing hooks and things like that. It is kid friendly at the same time it is adult stuff.I would say if your child has never fished before this would be good for like a seven-year-old. If your kid has fished before and they’re younger I think this would be OK definitely with adult supervision. I wasn’t expecting such sharp objects to be in the bag to be honest, I didn’t really know what I was expecting, but I wasn’t expecting that. I’m not saying that this is not good I’m just saying just be careful because you don’t want to fish hook in your kids hand.You do get a lot for your money and I do think it’s worth it and a good gift if you want to get your kid into fishing or do some thing with your child. Which more parents should get their kids outside and away from the TV aka Family Time!!
