I was very surprised on the quality of the porcelain. They feel hefty when you hold it in your hand. This is great as it feels like the real stuff the mom would have. I like the color as it doesn't scream out look at me all the time. I would say definitely is a great gift for matured girls. The size of the pieces are adequate in my opinion as little hands will be playing with these. One note, these are meant for little girls who know what they are handling and who will be careful when using them. Not meant for much younger girls as keep in mind, it is porcelain and is more prone to breaking. I like that it has its own carrying case. This will make it a bit difficult to lose pieces. I do recommend.

My 7 year old granddaughter LOVES her REAL tea set. The storage case is top notch, and she enjoys putting each little piece back in it's place when she's done and she enjoys pulling each little piece out. The scale is perfect for a little girl and the modern take on bows and flower petals is such an artistic touch. I can see her treasuring this and handing it down to her children someday.

This kids' ceramic tea set completely exceeded my expectations. The quality is almost as nice as my own real tea set and honestly better than a lot of actual dishware out there. The pieces are sturdy well made and feel like legitimate dishes rather than just a toy.They are also dishwasher safe which is a huge plus making cleanup easy after tea parties. I cannot stress enough how impressive the quality is for a kids' set. I was amazed when I opened the box because I was not expecting something this well made.If you are looking for a beautiful and functional tea set for kids this one is absolutely worth it. It is elegant durable and truly feels like a miniature version of the real thing.

This is a tea set I got and tested before letting my kids use it. It comes with a lovely carrying case that has cut out foam to protect the set while in storage or transporting.The set shows no sign of degradation after a few runs in the dishwasher. I used the teapot for a little bit of tea and it tasted just like drinking tea out of a ceramic mug. My kids hate tea so they will probably use water or juice with it but heated liquids are one of the better tests I've found to see if a toy will leave strange tastes in your drink.Be aware that this is a porcelain tea set. It's very breakable. Keep an eye on your kids to ensure they're gentle enough with it and keep an ear out in case one breaks. My girls are very careful with their tea sets, so I trust them with this kind of thing, but I'm always keeping an ear out for the sound of breaking dishes just to be safe.

Update: The girl finally took them all the pieces out and sadly I was informed that it has defects. The pot has a almost detached handle and a weird imperfection on the lid right out of the package.Two stars because the rest was in good shape. However the instructions do say to discard it if anything is broken.Original:I got it for a girl, age 6, who loves hello kitty. I don’t think younger is a good idea. Keep in mind these are porcelain. They need to have a certain level of understand when handling fragile objects. The set is very cute and the bow makes it perfect for hello kitty lovers in my opinion. If you are crafty, can even add the hello kitty image on the teapot.
