This was so cute. It took my husband about an hour to set it up. It fits my six-year-old perfectly and I love that it has a built-in light. The only negative is that it has a weird smell that has lingered in her room for the last week but other than that I would definitely recommend.

I ordered this kids vanity with lights for my 4 year old who loves pink. As a final finished product, this is great. The mirror is clear, the lights are bright (almost too bright), and everything is the right height for her. There are lots of shelves for her treasures. As mentioned in the description, the mirror light takes 3 AA batteries.It took a lot longer than I expected to put this together, over an hour. You can learn from my confusion:I was trying to put this together with a screwdriver and the longer screws needed my drill (and some of them I needed to turn the pre-attached plastic cam lock to get the screw to go in). I did not need a hammer / rubber mallet for anything. The dowel rod pieces are used to line up parts, not to fasten them together, so the holes are longer than half the rod piece.Only one or two of the 30 panels were missing a number (I think it was one of the #4s that was missing), but the numbers were almost always in the last place I looked. Some of the instructions were unclear (it didn’t have a serif font on the capital I’s so I couldn’t tell that an I piece was used since I thought it was a line pointing to a section or one of the dowel rod pieces). The directions didn’t have you putting things together in number order (step one used panels for 9, 11, and 20! which were latches and hardware parts you needed later but it still confused me not to start with part 1).There were bags of hardware that had 2 letters on them (two lengths of screws for example) and I had to refer to the parts list to figure out which one was which letter (and a one bag had 2 parts for 1 letter, so there were 3 sets of parts in the bag and only 2 letters).Some of the pre-drilled holes weren’t drilled all the way through (the end plug wasn’t removed) so I didn’t know the screw was to go in that spot – once it went in it was fine. One twist latch for the back of the mirror was broken. One corner was a little crumpled. There’s a protective film over the mirror that had a helpful indicator on it that it was removable. It didn’t clear all the corners so I had to remove the mirror from the back to clean that corner.Once all that was done, I had a great finished product.

This is pretty neat and solid overall. We got it today and I was able to put it together by myself in about two or three hours total. It wasn't overall complicated at all - the instructions were pretty well done, even if some of the steps had multiple sub-steps in them. The only frustrating part I would mention is that some of the blunted A screws were installed into some fake looking screws on the other side that had to be oriented just right to get them to install. But the fake screws didn't always behave - if you could see the empty hole before beginning there was no issue, otherwise you had to kind of turn the fake screw a bit until you could see the screw. Less than ideal but I really only had one screw that gave me fits and took five minutes to complete. But other than that, everything was packaged well and fairly easy to assemble. I'd say it's definitely more suited for the 5 year old than the 8 year old but they're already fighting over it. It's got lots of cute storage. The screw on the battery compartment gave me a big fight too...couldn't get it to reverse at all. But not a huge deal. Overall we love this!
