I love these "shoulder rests" for my younger kiddos. It works great and has an awesome velcro pocket on the underneath side to put more foam in if it needs to be thicker. I wish that the part covering the end button was more padded, but that's a minor detail. I just wish it wasn't so expensive!

It works well for my 5 and 8 yrs-old kids. Very soft and comfortable.

The overall product is nice but it says it's for a 1/4-1/2 violin. My daughter has a 1/4 and the straps on this are too long so it keeps falling off. She's really close to growing into the next size violin so I decided to keep it. This really should only advertise for the 1/2 though.

This shoulder/chin rest pad is great! I tried a couple other shoulder rest and foam pad setups for my daughter's 1/4 size violin, and they all were too big for her. This is just the right size, and is adjustable by simply removing or adding the included thin foam pads. If you don't know where to start when purchasing a shoulder rest for your child's violin, this is the perfect first shoulder rest, and I can't imagine it not working for any child, unless they have a particularly long neck.

The straps are a bit to long for the 1/2 scale violin, but it is still perfectly serviceable and the long straps could be easily tacked to fit my son's violin more snugly. This chinrest cover is great - it has replaced all of our other foam pad and rubber band contraptions we had before, and it also covers the bars connecting the chinrest to the violin, so they don't rub my son's collar bone. We did replace the original foam piece that came with this cover with a thicker piece of foam (which is very simple to do). My son really likes it.

This item is the same one used by our violin instructor and it seems to fit her and my child equally well. It has made her lessons and practice much easier.

My daughter (8) loves this chinrest cover. It keeps all the "pokey" parts of her 11" viola (same body as a 1/4 size violin) comfortably cushioned. With this chinrest cover she does not need a separate shoulder rest.
