This is a comprehensive OBD scanner for a Lexus or toyota. It will probably work on other cars as well but I haven't tried it on any others. I tried it on my Lexus and was able to read all the codes and all of the data including voltages and so forth and it worked very well I was able to clear a trouble code for a tire pressure sensor that had been on for a couple of years and I hadn't been able to clear it with a different code reader. I also used it in my granddaughter's 2008 Toyota prius, and it worked really well in that car I was able to read all the voltages and the individual cells for the Hybrid battery and all the other systems and it also cleared a couple of old trouble codes that have been in the car for a couple of years. Overall a very nice scanner. It takes a little while to set it up but once you get it set up it works well. is this scanner is able to generate a PDF report that is printable to keeping your cars files. The only thing I didn't like was all of the permissions that are required and basically wants to track your vehicle wherever you go and look at your phone whenever the app is on. That just isn't necessary

This review is for the Toyota/Lexus model. I spent some time playing with this after it arrived. I am very impressed with the features it has and how well it works. It is a bit on the slow side but easily to work with and provides alot of good clear information. Definitely recommend getting one of these for every vehicle you own.

Got it for my Toyota Camry. And so far so good I can read codes clear codes it’s does the health check and looks into all modules available. The software is easy to use and it got a few updates already since I got it. Definitely a great value for the money. With great functionality.

This scanner works great, it was easy to setup and is easy to use. I was able to use it on a 2025 model year Camry with no problem where one of my more expensive “professional” scanners would let me down. It has bidirectional control and reads data. The nice case it comes in is just an extra bonus.

Excellent BT scanner! This did a great job of scanning several of my cars. It actually showed me every stored code on my wife's 2010 Prius since we bought it new, even though I had fixed the issue years ago. The issue is that not every code throws a CEL because many codes don't involve the engine. It was interesting to see the codes and recall what had happened to trip that code. Most were small things that I fixed so it was neat to see. The scanner was easy to create an account for and to use. It was straight forward and mostly common sense to move through out the screens. I've always felt that have some type of OBD2 scanner is important for anyone to own, this is a good choice because it does more than some lesser priced ones, just make sure you have one! If you know your way around a car, this is an excellent choice. Don't let shops rip you off, know what codes caused the CEL so you are properly informed! I highly recommend this BT OBD2 scanner.

Another great product from Kingbolen, easy to connect to and setup with your phone, can read codes and live data on the toyotas, also works as OBD2 on the rest of the brands, nice to have a small unit to take with for quick service calls.

So far it is very annoying. Even after going to the Kingbolen website I still couldn't find whether this device was compatible with my '04 toyota. The product description says you need to email them to find out what works, or doesn't, for any particular vehicle. So potential buyers should do this first.I couldn't power up the device in the house, where wifi was available; so I had to download all the software/firmware in the driveway, over LTE, (my plan has limited data). There were several things it downloaded, not just a single update. Or maybe some of these were duplicates which I re-downloaded inadvertently, it was hard to tell. The automatic VIN scan doesn't work for me. Maybe this is due to the age of my vehicle, but needing to enter the vin manually is irritating. There is the option to enter the vehicle's make & model, but it's unclear whether this makes a difference regarding how much capability this device has. After entering the vin manually this device did recognize my vehicle correctly. While attempting to look at the different options&data in the software, I made the mistake of backing up too far in the menus, and the device no longer recognized my vehicle. So I again needed to manually enter the vin. After needing to manually enter the vin for a 3rd time, I was done. The app needed for this Kingbolen device is not from Kingbolen, it's from ThinkCar. Maybe one company owns the other, I'm not sure. The issues I experienced may simply be "operator error". I do not do this work professionally, just DIY for my own vehicles. The instructions, such as they are, only apply to the initial device setup. There are no instructions for the app or anything else about using the OBD system. Using this app seems to require prior knowledge of this type of system. I have used simple OBD/ELM327 devices for several years, but that experience (and 30yrs of DIY auto work) is insufficient for me to navigate this app in any useful way. This device could be great, but I just can't tell.I'll try it again when I have more patience and/or knowledge.
