I have many of these in my house but they are a bit expensive for what they are. 8 or 10 bucks would be tops in my book, not 17 dollars, etc

Yes, it might be a quality product, but how often has anyone needed to purchase one end bracket for a rod? If you double the price, since you have to purchase 2 separately, it is really not less expensive then other options out there.
