Please be aware that the dimensions given include a generous lid lip. The box itself is barely 6.5" x 4". In it's support, it does appear to be extremely solid and water-proof. It's just nowhere near the size described.

Box is perfect for keeping small items dry in the boat. It is fairly sturdy and tested in the tub is pretty waterproof.

I keep this in my fishing kayak and it provides a convenient place for my wallet and cell phone while I'm out. It's easy to open, durable and absolutely waterproof. I do lash it to my boat with a rope, mainly to keep it from floating away if I roll the boat over on accident. I have tested its ability to keep things dry by sticking in the lake for a few minutes. No issues, no water intrusion at all. You can be sure that items inside this box will stay dry. The battery holder is nice too, but I don't use it for that.
