Official product, supplied in gold and didn’t have to pay shipping to another company since my LBS didn’t carry the gold.

Seems to be a good quality chain. It's winter time here so I'm just riding my bike in the house on a trainer but it works okay

For all the purchasers of this chain that have had trouble connecting the MissingLink connector. The chain thickens at the connection cut-outs due to the Ni coating. Purchase MissingLink pliers and life gets easy with a fast connect that hits home. I won't tell you which I have or where to buy them. I'm not with any company or bike shop. Good Luck

Very nice chain. Bling gold. The chain looks amazing on my trike. One down side of trikes is you buy three chains. ($115) and remove about 15 links to get the right length. I’m removing one star bc one of the packages was damaged and half of the missing link was, well, missing. I worked it out but would like a spare since I remove the chain every 500 miles for clean and wax. Three missing links really make a nasty job less nasty. Don’t want to pay $10-$14 more for the part which should have been in the package. No fault of vendor. Don’t know how to reach them or I’d try to persuade.Update. Following an online chat Amazon is issuing a refund. This is amazing service. I amended my review to five stars

I'm a year-round bike commuter in Wisconsin, so I put my chains through four very distinct seasons and all weather extremes. Knowing this, my LBS recommended this chain along with some other winterizing tricks when they built my commuter bike (such as rebuilding the hubs with lighter grease, spoke upgrades, and so-on). I've now been through a few of these chains and put 2,000-2,500 miles of frequent shifting and good cadence on each one before they stretched enough to run rough enough on the drivetrain to be worth replacing (chains are cheaper than good cranks and much easier to replace). I've put these chains through torrential rain, wind, dust, dry sand, wet salty sand, fresh road brine, rock salt, greasy conditions, mud, slush, ice rain, etc; they've seen air temps from 105°F to -20°F, and on a daily basis they get pushed hard up rolling hills on a heavily loaded bike. Never seen any rust and I haven't had one break on me. What more can I say?I do give my bike basic routine maintenance--don't need to be overly anal, but yes, you need to clean and lube your chain periodically. Once in a while I use a Chain Pig or similar with Clean Streak to clean, and I regularly use White Lightning Wet Ride for lube. I run these on a Shimano 50/34 compact road crankset and a Shimano 10-speed mountain cassette on an adult large frame. Don't need to add or subtract any links--116 is just right for this and shifting is excellent when everything is adjusted correctly.I don't give many 5-stars, but I think these chains have earned it. Only way I could be happier is if I could get Shimano's own XT or Ultegra-grade chain design with KMC's anti-corrosion technology.

I've been running this chain for about two months and several hundred miles and it's been stellar. Shifts great, no signs of wear so far, looks nice. I took one star off because it was nearly impossible to mount due to the master link being two tight. After wrestling with it for half an hour trying to get it on I finally had the brilliant idea of getting the master link in place and then holding the wheel with one hand and pushing down on a pedal with the other to get a large amount of tension on the chain. That got it snapped into place, but only after I was practically doing a one-hand pushup on the pedal. When it comes time to replace it I'm not even going to try to use that master link, I'm just reaching for the chain tool.My suspicion is the master link was designed for the version of this chain without the coating, but the coating makes everything a tiny bit thicker which reduces the amount of space you have to play with.
