This tool isn’t generally used as often as I’d like to play with them but they are fender Ku life savers for when I do reach for them. Needed a rounded bolt to stay on play to fix a nut on the other side and these did the trick!Love the easy release lever as I don’t have to almost lose a finger just to disengage them. You can tighten them down as much as you’d like and the release level is smooth.I only wish they included an Allen key insert to help tighten the bite, I have been resorting to using my Knipex cobra pliers which has been slowing but gradually marring up my adjustment knob

Forget the tool shaped objects at the big box stores. These are real tools that work right and don’t wear out. I’d rather have 2 pairs of these instead of 6 pairs of junkers.

Made better, more precise, than any other I have and I have most including Malco. Even better than Malco in my opinion. Close, but a little better. I feel they are made with thought and desire to make something better their own way, which was and maybe still is a German tool hallmark. Grip on though is in a class of it’s own with the array of types, and work well. This knipex is more a finally better executed version of Vice Grips.

Plier received in near perfect condition with no rust as others have experienced. Precisely made with little slop in the picot points. Very easy to unlock. Chrome vanadium steel. Vise Grips are chrome moly. Cr-V should make a harder tool, which is important for the longevity of the jaw teeth.

When I first took these out of the package they were very stiff and didn't open well. The overall quality is awesome but the hinges or rivet pivots were rusty. I spent a little time oiling them and cleaning them with Q-tips and now these work very smoothly. Solidly built but I'll need to keep them oiled. I have the Milwaukee Torque Locks which are also very good and were not rusty when new. The Knipex have nicer much larger jaws and are a bit thinner. The Milwaukees were cheaper in price, but they both work great. I would say the the Knipex feel a little more durable but I just got them both and thats just a feeling. The Knipex are made in Germany, the Milwaukee say US pat. on them but I'm not sure where they are made.

This is only the second brand of locking pliers I have bought. First was an awful, knuckle destroying set of Craftsman pliers. I read reviews of different brands and decided to go with these over the Grip-ons. Comparing this to the craftsman pliers is like comparing a Honda that hurts your knuckles to drive to an aston martin. VERY well built, operate smoothly and will probably last forever.I took off a star because Knipex has some lame Limited Warranty on the products that doesn't back them if they wear out. I cant see them wearing out but I like to be able to pass down confidence when I pass down a tool. Also, the angled portion of the jaw opening is kind of big, and it didn't work out for my purpose of holding an inner tie rod end while replacing the outer end and I had to buy the 10 inch round jaw locking pliers. I wish jaw measurements were listed, but as they are not, I will upload a picture of the jaws with size comparison. Either way, they were so nice I decided to keep them because as soon as I return them, I would have found something I needed them for.
