Hands down a better alternative to paper: has survived wind, snow, and rain with minimal discoloration. Use zip ties as they do blow off your lights--like all covers of this style.

We used to hang other lanterns, but couldn't take the Chicago winter and thunderstorm and summer heat, they usually fade or tear or rip easily.These were easy to mount, and didn't felt flimsy, so we gave it a go and installed it in our outdoor patio and put it to the testStrong Winds - No problem - stayed onHot Sun - No issuesThunderstorms and Tornados - Lanterns are still aroundSnow - Bring it on - made itHighly recommend it - not sure if it will last for years, but even just for 1 year - it's worth the money

After setup, shape was still a bit irregular. Also, needed them to hide lights, but the sheerness revealed too much inside and did not cast the glow that I wanted. If you want something more durable than paper, this may be a good choice, because it does look like it can stand water/wind better.

The wiring comes with a "C" shaped hook at the top, where the lanterns are hung, so tying the strings onto them was easy. We we used the twines, to hang the strings, to the trees. Once the party was over, it was easy to take them down and store them. As described, after the rain, the silk cloth lantern still performs well without any damage, and the light transmittance of the lantern is good too. They are well made and super cute. Happy with product. I would definitely buy more products from KNONEW!

I did not receive the lights that were supposed to come with these lanterns, but other than that, the lantern quality is good. I ordered lanterns in white and you can notice some spots of glue on some of them as well as a couple tiny dot marks that were black or green... In order to stretch the lanterns out to a sphere, I had to gently remove the parts that were glued together. Also, the wire frame has to bend a little bit to be able to fit inside some of the spheres, but the material stretches without it looking too flimsy. Overall, a great product for the price, I just wish I received the lights that were marketed for this product!
