I make carpenter bee traps and use the chain to hang them. They appear to be sturdy enough for what I need. I also used it to support my hanging light fixture (wooden frame) for plants. Would love to have the chain on some sort of spool to make it easier to dispense.

Used it to hang a piece of stained glass art in front of a window. This holds it safely and unobtrusively. Perfect for hanging slightly heavier decorative items
